but
The effective range that a code can work in no$gba and flash cart is 02000000 to 023FFFFF
anything that range from 02400000 and above will not work, unless you can find out where it is mirrored (which i am struggling to do so)

Ah, thanks a bunch! After looking at GBATek with these numbers in mind it became a little bit clearer now. Main memory starts at 02000000h, it's 4 MByte in size, that's 400000h. That's why you can't write to anything above 02400000h, it's outside the main memory. So the Firmware values get read from firmware, stored what-do-i-know-where-where-you-can't-modify-them and then mapped into that region. So what one really needs to do is finding out when this Address (or even the firmware?) gets read, find out what's being done with that value and modify the routine that processes it?

Is there another Debugger then iDeaS available? Because that one is giving me this output. Or any other method to watch what a running programm is doing then EmuCheat?

many claimed that no$gba debugger is the best..~! but the author is missing in action~! so is difficult for us to get a copy of it

Thanks, I guess I'll have to manually switch firmware settings till either iDeaS gets fixed, EmuCheat works in Wine or Martin Korth resurfaces.

BTW, I got another version of Emucheat from somewhere else to work in Wine, but it seems to be to old to recognize No$GBA. Does it have a Forum/real Homepage with a version archive? Googling just showed a bunch of chinese (?) sites.

Emucheat is a chinese made software, that explains why when you google it returns with all the chinese website

by the way i am not sure the latest version works in WINE or not

Steps to setting up your Emucheat

2. Place the EMU folder on the main root of Emucheat, along with the other folders.

Thanks, that explains the amount of funny letters in the google search.

Finally got EmuCheat to work... even though my complete home directory is cluttered with its files now.

For anyone else on Linux who has the same problem:

copy the emucheat files and folders straight into your home directory. No idea why, but it doesn't work from subdirectories and it creates its directory structure together with .ini files directly in the root of the home dir anyways. This will make a bloody mess of files, but at least it works...

Now off to try if I can find that cheat...
