GBAtemp Group Game Event
One of my goals for the Spring/Summer season is to have some co-op events with some Tempers. I had the following games in mind:

Super Mario 64 Co-Op Deluxe
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (Co-Op)
A Link to the Past Multiplayer
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Multiplayer (4 Player)

Before I head off to med school in the Fall, I want to run around with some Tempers in the Mushroom Kingdom.

If you're interested, post. With enough engagement, I'll start setting up a date and time that works for everyone.

No mario for me its a kids game. However, I would love to take you up on the offer to do zelda games co op. Heck, I been trying to organize is co op campaign playthrough of doom 3. Its hard because I don't know a lot fps gamers out there. I have other great pro gamers in my gaming clan ScS that can help out but i wanted to do OoT with 10 players. Imagine how epic that would be.

I'll have to make a topic for OoT. 10 players would be hilarious, especially during the cinematics.

Just by adding me and my skills as a player would be overkill lmao Ganon is fucked. Of course I would need some preperation by way of practice time with the game. Last time I played OoT was probably back when I was 18. I'm 41 now so a lot of time has passed.

So how does this work? And have you modded in characters so you can be different and how many players at one time?

Is it on PC?

Not sure for the mario one as I don't follow that series but I know that OoT for zelda has over 10 players i saw it on youtube video one day. Of course all these co op mods are designed for pc's. I'm a PC gamer by heart however still play consoles to.

The above will showcase that the mod itself can support many players. With practice I can just about go through the game blindfolded. But yeah, let me know if anyone wants to do a mass player campaign. I would be interested in doing a Doom 3 co op mod that to much like OoT Zelda supports lots of players.

Hey, thanks for joining. That's a good question. I believe sm64coopdx has mods that add more characters. I'd definitely want plenty of choices for everyone.

It does occur to me that I should do a test with a few people to make sure sm64coopdx works the way I'm expecting.

For execution, my general idea was for us to join some platform that allows voice chat, like Discord (maybe Steam?). That way, we can hear each other shouting nonsense. From there, I load up sm64coopdx and we all join the game. Hopefully, it's that simple and straightforward.

Princesses may or may not be rescued. It doesn't matter.

Steam has voice chat which is good. I played with a couple of good players on Whisper Mountain Outbreak and we had to strategize to beat the game. Its actually quite tough for a game just because of the RNG and things the devs added.

I just got myself a new mic and its quite perfect. I got a blue yeti from best buy near where I live. Costed me around $100 but I wanted to get a good mic instead of something around $20-$30.

I'm actually excited for a good 10+ player game of Zelda OoT. I remember beating the game when I was a lot younger. I remember it being a quite easy game. I recommend everyone that has a mic get on voice chat via discord or we could use another program who knows. We also need to plan things out pretty well. I know that you like casually playing games for fun but we most certainly need a plan. I volunteer to be team leader. If your interested we could also play a few more games I got Tom Clancy's The Division 2 and that has co op campaign in it. Played a little bit of it for the first time yesterday and today. It seems like a lot of fun. That game supports 4 player co op. If you want Robert you can buy The Division 2 and we can play that online together through steam. I think that the game we were working on together Resident Evil 6 last Wednesday I can probably fix the disconnects. A lot of other people are complaining about the same thing on steam forums for the game. However, there were a good number of people who had solved the problem. I'm not done doing my research yet but it seems like its not a firewall issue. The game can disconnect for a good amount of reasons such as too many tasks running on the task bar. Capcom never got around to fixing the issue unfortunately. The disconnects on RE6 might be a problem on your end to we will have to work this thing out.

OH SO IT'S MY FAULT

Yeah, I know some tempers are religiously against Discord, so something like Steam Chat may be the better option. (My understanding is that Steam can do group voice chat.) I'm open to options.

I admit, I'm an intense personality, that's why I like to be mellow with games whenever possible. You know, just talk, play, joke, and have a good time. It's funny, I remember some friends saying that I get into a zone, when I play games with them. What can I say, I've been playing these things since the NES days, so I've refined the mindset over decades. I may not do speedruns, but I do give games an honest try.

The connection dropping from RE6 might be both of our faults. I have a lot of processes running in the background. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the firewall. I've been trying different things to get the game to run for 2 co op two players. I've had some success.

We will have to set something up for playing online games with Resident Evil 6.

Which game would that be? There are quite a few of them on this group forum. Is it super mario 64? Me and Robert went and played resident evil 6 this recent summer. We beat it and had a blast.

Nice. Can you play this online with another friend or is it couch co op only? Like offline only? Yeah, sure we could find something to play I even have RE 6 for the pc. I even have it for the xbox 360 me and my ex fiance used to play it together when we lived with one another. Glad I am out of that relationship!

You can play Resident evil 6 together with anyone you want on 360 and PC

I dont really care about relationships, I could not handle the arguing as i do not like conflict too much.

I think i am introvert so there is that and i have gym and my games, That is enough for me.
