It's time for THE 2ND-TO-LAST SESSION of Know Your Temps! The Temper being questioned during this session is xcalibur798!

For those of you that are new to the game, here are the rules:

---> One user will be put on the questioning stand every two days. Users may sign-up/volunteer for each spot [but more on that later].

First of all, I'm sad that this is the last Know Your Temps session, but all good things must come to an end. I suspect "James Bond will be back in... Know Your Temps II: Electric Boogaloo!" but we'll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, thank you [M]artin, for the awesome topic(s), you've done a good thing. First of all, I'm sad that this is the last Know Your Temps session, but all good things must come to an end. I suspect "James Bond will be back in... 1. I really dont lurk...I was drawn to GBAtemp because of the rich source of info and high quality reviews of flashcards because i was relatively new to the scene. What i usually do before buying anything new is go on forums and check out problems people have with what i "might" buy. As I needed to sign up before viewing any of the topics and was bored(see 2 for more) i created an account. I saw how fun you guys were and i decided to become a part of it. It was neither intimidating (a uberlarge forum with thousands of posts each day kinda puts me off) nor a boresville.

2.I see GBAtemp as more of a social site for me because of 2 reasons.
A) the forum that i usually visited died(read: got hacked the sh*t out off and people left the buggy place)
B)I am bored. I used to live in england (a year ago) and its a lot different from egypt.
Because im a muslim and 17, my parents who love me and want the best for me decided to take 2 years off so i can get a full muslim education and so i will be prepared for life as an adult alone...Sadly this involves lots of work and doesnt leave much time for socialising. Now i got it easier though since i dont have to do regular school anymore(as in right now, not the past year) so i have a bit more free time. I had to do both AS and A2 for 4 subjects in one year(this past year at a private school in egypt) and IT WAS HARD AS HELL (DAMN YOU CALCULUS!!!!)I didnt want to be come an outcast so i forced myself to be a bit more social. Thats the reason why im so active.
All i have left is one more year and then ill be back in england

3.I dont know really...kinda sad because KYT gives people a chance to be noticed and momentarily puts the spotlight on them. That may not seem much but when you really dont have a lot else (i dont like speaking arabic so i avoid arabic speaking people...that doesnt leave many people here in egypt) like me, its a great boost once in a while.

4.Not a lot really, ive read some KYT sessions but i honestly dont know how many there are, i probably havent scratched the surface...5% maybe?

1) The british system is slightly different from the american, we dont have any juniors or seniors..
Its 2 years of GCSE's(15 and 16) 2 years of college or so-called "A-levels" which i got to do in just 1 year...lucky me(17 and 18)
and then uni. Ill be going uni next year.
2) 1. Samurai Champloo (it rox XD) 2. Full Metal Alchemist 3.Bleach(naruto lost this spot after the fillers and the continued dragging out of the series, even if they continued the plot)
3)Usually funny, but when im bored i prefer to act stupid. Im a pest on msn/irc...i dont know how many times i got blocked/banned
4)Probably Engineering (electromechanical)and a IT course part time(want to learn some coding/programming...all i did was vb).
5)SELL IT DUH! i could get more for just the duck than i could get for a couple of dozen eggs. INSTANT PROFIT BABY!

1. Wa aleikumu assalaam. Dude, think for like ONE moment...My parents brought me over to egypt for me to get a full muslim education, that includes memorising quran, learning the religion all over again but in more detail(fiqh) and arabic(the old language)
THEY WILL BEAT MY ASS IF I DONT (lol not rly).
Besides, theres mosques all over the place doing adhan when the time has come. Its hard to forget.
I never really had that much of a problem with praying though, alhamdulillah i grew up with very supportive and islamic parents. My dad never really beat me(just once when i REALLY pissed him off, dont wana go into detail about that), he opted to use an alternate form of punishment...grounding me, banning me from gaming, he even smashed my ps2 and gamecube at the same time(i brought it on myself really, though it wasnt smart of him since i got new ones 3 weeks later). It is quite effective for me, must be how i am.

2. I dont any YET. I was supposed to order them a month ago (when i first got into the scene) but something honestly kept getting in the way. It was annoying to the extend that it slightly depressed me for a little bit. It was supposed to be my reward for a YEAR OF HARDSHIP LIKE I NEVER KNEW (i actually worked my arse off lol, doing A levels in 1 year is hard

) but i never got it.
Im gonna order tomorow though..provided nothing gets in the way AGAIN.
Getting a R4 + EZ4 minisd+Hori screen gaurds from japan + Replacement case for my phatty (hinge got messed up) + 2 Kingston MIT (minisd and microsd) 2gig + 2 Kingston MIJ (mini and micro again) 1gig.
Big order huh

3. All i know is a bit of Visual basic, i think i mentioned it before. I heard from my friend that its a sucky language anyways...
It was fun but i hope it isnt true... ive had a look at JAVA and it seems a bit weird.

4. I just wana get a nice and comfy job, one that doesnt require loads of research, numbercrunching, homework and hard work in general...im sick of it now and im gonna do a 4 year course as soon as i get back to england...
Ill probably just get a simple job before i start looking for something serious.

5.Meh...Theyre not that rascist but they are funny. The only thing thats a bit off putting is how direct they are with you. Im used to it in my culture (somali) but this is a whole new level.
Youre walking along the street, someone randomnly calls you and asks you to eat with him whatever hes having. If you somehow share a lift and he gets out before he always invites you to tea. FORCEFULLY! Its the same with you too, if youre walking along the street eating something, a random person comes to you and asks you if they can have some.
Its pretty cool here though, everyone is laid back. You have like the through and through muslims who work and read quran in the mosque all day just having friendly chats with a outright christian(note; by outright i mean dresses scarily to show hes a christian. Kinda like those big dresses muslim men wear (khamis) but all black with a MASSIVE cross on the front and thats all i know. I avoid them like the plague because the creep the f*ck out of me).
Some people are also so nice its startling. I saw the local imam of our mosque the other day and i never personally talked to him so i just went up to him and gave him my salam. He was so nice it gave me a nice fuzzy feeling inside. Kindness like that is rare.

Ok, I must say that [M]artin had a tremendous idea, and if I suggest something it would be to have like a "spot on" feature with a whole week dedicated to a Temper, then you can know him much better.

Anyways, let my participation of this last time begin:

1. Do you like Metal Gear Solid?. I mean the Carp Battle was one of the funniest videos I've seen on this site!

1. It would kill whatever bandwith i have since i have 256k, its not slow but its noticable if you downgraded from 2meg...

I dont think that it would be a good idea because there are somethings that cant be expressed using pictures. KYT is about knowing your temps, pics will be hard to do, especially since everyone is just gonna be cheap and use old memes, like bidoof.

2.No, i never, but i will now. I hope its gonna be filled with engrish like Zero wing. That would make the wait for my flashcards GO IN A FLASH

3.Do what i do, turn the contrast down, go on paint, draw a big circle, place your hand firmly on either side of the monitor and gently *GENTLY position your face right before the monitor so it doesnt shock you and your face is in the circle you drew.
Move your head back as far as you can and SMASH YOUR HEAD ON THE MONITOR. If thats not your thing, either have some coffe or find a friend to pester. Pestering people makes all your pains go away.

4. OH GOD NO! I hate people like that. thats one of the reasons i got banned from a few irc chatrooms, because i got into a flamewar with people like that. This one person was like ;"Stop making my eyes bleed Xcalibur"

I used to watch it all the time back when i was living in Holland.
Dutch tv had the most awesome shows on. Eek!The cat, Shin Chan and hundreds of others like that. I really miss that because i never saw a channel like dutch fox kids. CAN YOU BELIEVE THE BRITISH NEVER HEARD OF EEK THE CAT!

1. Metal gear solid is great and ive played all the games. Im not a fan that goes nuts everytime theres a new trailer for MGS4 but i am exited for the game(thats the only reason im getting a ps3). Crab battle i just found randomnly by whoring stumbleupon(which i usually do because im bored) and i thought i should share it. I have hundreds of stuff like taht.

2.Well, because i was dutch and we dutch are very much into american culture(thats why a dutch person tries his best to speak with a texan accent each time you meet one and talk english) We saw some tv show that used the joke why is 6 afraid of the seven (BECAUSE SEVEN EIGHT NINE) and then they kept spamming it at me(it became our own little stupid meme) so to piss them off id rearrange the numbers to 798. its also really comfy to enter yourself. Go on, try it.
Whenever Xalibur isnt available(my handle) i use either 798 or 698(at one or 2 sites). I just became used to it and enter it subconciously now lol.

3.I didnt do astrology as my option for physics, i di telecommunications and medical physics but ill give it a shot.
I believe that the universe is finite, theres lots of evidence for that. I dont want to go into detail since GCSE physics isnt gonna cut it. Besides, Im a religious person and i do believe that God/Allah(what you want to use, same meaning really) Created the universe for us humans. I DONT believe in extraterrestrial life.

4.I dont know and i couldnt care less. I stopped watching Simpsons AGES ago

Nothing too fancy. I just wanted to try my hand at some programming languages because all my uncles and my dad(believe it or not) have done something with IT. My dad is A+ certified, my uncle did a full MCSE in uni(i think) and my other uncles all own a computer/mobile shop toghether. That went bust sadly....

If i were to specify it would probably be C/C++ and HTML and a bit of JAVA.
