I wont ask you how many of those games you play on a regular basis. That'd be wrong. Of my 50 or so games I don't touch most on a regular basis. There are quite a few I could very well delete and never miss. So how about this, how many of those games do you actually have an hour+ played time in? While you're on the subject of social lives, why don't you tell the developers of many of the great apps we all use how fucking sad they are as well, sitting around all day on a fucking computer, not getting laid, coding for a bunch of mostly ungrateful twats. yeah this is true! i actually want a way to increase the capacity so i can download "Wii Cheer" 796 times and put all the copies on one drive cuz that's a GREAT game!!!!!!
actually piracy is really lame, and having access to every game kind of takes away the value of all of them. isn't it nice to play one game, very thoroughly, all the way through, instead of starting a whole bunch... it just seems pointless to have all those games, and distracting from playing a couple to their fullest potential.
Metacritic lists 457 Wii games out and reviewed. Now clearly they've missed a few disc releases but this list also includes Virtual console games so the totals probably are a bit on the high side anyway.
82 of those 457 are rated as absolute shovelware crap. About 275 of those games are rated as marginal with a greater frequency of games at the lower end of this catacory. Only 98 games are rated as 'good' to 'excellent'.
I just thought it would be nice to bring some concrete (though, yes imperfect in more ways than one) numbers to this little flame fest before it got locked. You all can draw your own conclusions from this bit of info.
EDIT: oh, and for the dude that was playing dumb about 'how do you sell an iso?' I've heard rumors of these little plastic platters that look almost like a doughnut. Apparently you can put them in your computer and copy "information" to them.There also seems to be an epidemic of kids swapping these "doughnut platters" for money in schools in many nations. i wonder why?

UMMMM I at no point said there was XX number of good games.... Game developers tend to confine thier "Developing" to thier working day (long gone are the days of people sitting in front of a commadore 64 coding games) so that argument is null and any that do then as it pays for their social lives when they are not coding then so be it. Maybe it means they can retire at 40 and have a life of leisure.
..I am married with 2 children and never mentioned ANYTHING about my social life so dont understand what that parts about unless you are insinuating that having kids is the same as sitting playing 500 games on a wii (something that it is not as I know for a fact you can turn a wii off when its annoying you). As for the change of social life... Thats what baby sitters are for and kids clubs so that the parents still get some time to do what they want.. Try it and see.
... I have the games I play on my HDD and thats all as I dont have time for playing all the time . When I was younger I had a chipped PSX and PS2 as well as XBOX (also with hard drive installed and 24 games) but never saw the point in getting loads as I enjoyed going out and socialising with friends as well as football and other sports. My point I was making is that the excuse for wanting EVERY game because you will play them is lame as this will make you a hermit and unsociable (Unless all your mates like staying in all the time playing games). Thats why I dont see the point of having EVERY game out there.

this flame war started as soon as someone ignored the OP's question and decided to bring things into thread such as uneducated claims of piracy and antisocialism. for all you know the OP could be sharing his Wii with everyone else in the household who all have different tastes in games. it is expected out of a decent member here that they don't bring things up that don't need to be. that means the "P" word. and if you're going to accuse someone of that, you should have a good reason. like if someone said "I'M SELLING BACKUPS" then calling them out is appropriate. but when someone asks a question like this, there is absolutely no reason for personal attacks.

I just need to say...nope, here. I don't pirate games. I use USBLoader because it's very convenient, and it's also pretty rad to have shortcuts to your favorite games right on the system menu. I also do it to make space on my shelf, as my shelf has only a limited amount of space for all my games/dvds/music cds. Don't have a gigantic apartment, sadly.Ossot said:
