I actually think all these false predictions of when the exploit will be released actually hinders its actual release, I mean if I was the one making the decision when to release it, and people were spreading rumors on a release date, I would probably wait even longer to release it just despite them, even if I originally planned on releasing it at an earlier date, not that that is what happening here, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone holding the exploit felt that way.

And not to be a jerk but some of these guys that have the exploits do seem very spiteful, I mean why get upset about things like piracy, home brew development, or people asking to release it, when you told them you have it, what would you expect to happen, for people to wait patiently for you to decide to release it, and not use it to get free stuff when you do, this has been the way since the beginning, its not just going to change for one persons idea of the way they think things should be. You might as well make a verbal agreement that you will release on the condition that the entire internet will only use it in the way you see fit.

i mean i can see why they don't want piracy to happen on their exploit, but it will happen either way you look into it.

The problem is you don't cut down the whole tree because of a few bad apples, if that is the case there will not ever be any growth at all. You also have to look at why the apples went bad in the first place, or if they are even bad at all, and sometimes these innovations will stop them, things like region locking, poor quality control, and buyers remorse without recourse, convenience, or maybe just not responding well to authority. We have been shown time again that piracy does not in fact hurt sales, and in some parts of the world is not even considered illegal. I am not trying to go on a tangent in support of piracy, just stating some of the facts.

Once the apples become rotten it's game over

I don't know about that, look how long the Dreamcast received homebrew support well after it became defunct, some people want to blame piracy on killing the dreamcast, but the truth is very little people pirated its content in comparison to its install base, very little, it was Sega's bad history of failed consoles, lack of features, and poor marketing that killed the system, combined with a healthy competitor that did everything they were doing wrong the right way in Sony. You can actually say the same thing about Sony's handheld market in comparison to Nintendo's.

A recent European commission funded study even showed that of all the major forms of media it is only the initial release of blockbuster movies sales that are effected by piracy at about 5% which is largely in part due to the ridiculous rates to go to the movies for a one time viewing of a movie that might turn out to be a dud, and the industries slow pace to convert to digital home streaming.

Piracy does help sell more consoles and i do not understand the concept of hoarding exploit and releasing it years after it's been patched like recent release of 4.55 when it was patched in 4.70. Maybe the made a deal with sony for delaying the exploits. Really like the Nintendo scene where plutoo ran off like a little girl since his intend was to hoard exploit for personal benefit when TX and others jumped in the scene and did a way better job. TX is not interested in PS4 platform because its all about soft mod and it is not in their benefit which i can understand.

At least your living in rich country where peoples earns 4 x more money and pay 30-40% less for original games compare to my country :D Seems like its not big deal to you, just buy another console with 4.55. -.-

I come from a country where the PS4 Pro retails for over $600, but I was lucky enough to import it via a friend. Nonetheless, my only reason for getting the PS4 was to play Sony exclusives, and if you only look at the exclusives, you can get older exclusive games for cheap. Like, I can get Ratchet and Clank, Infamous, TLOU, UC4 for around $8 to $10, which is great for me.

HENCE, I am thinking of updating. No use waiting for an exploit that might release in 6 months or a year.

Not quite true. Games are costy too but i dont like ps4 hax anymore. Its just a boring idiotic non cooperative scene where fame and bitching lead the way. And older aaa titles are cheap.

With any scene:

There is no entitlement for anyone to ever release anything.

"Scene" as the name suggests is for public releases if those guys qwerty and his band dont want to release anything for public then they should not be called a ps4 scene but just nerd poseurs.
As i know 4.05-4.55 kexpolit didnt get released but leaked (that diffrence) from some good guy that want to do something for public ?

That is not necessarily true. If you tell some random hungry person hey I got extra food. You kinda owe him some food.

You really dont, youre just showing off.

@adrian226
"Scene" doesnt indicate public releases. IMHO It indicates a grouping of people interested in the same subject. It doesnt mean uninhibited sharing of info. Just a meeting of minds.

Pretty sure qwerty released the 4.05 and 4.55 "crack bargains"... it was morpheus holy grail that was "leaked" probably intentionally.

Theyre dev's, not the "scene"

@TheRealNGB true, hackers gotta hack, dont gotta release though :P

Food prosperity is different to a little piece of code to enable pirates.

People like to show off, if they said I have made a hack and will release on x/y/z then said nah changed my mind, then its harsh but its their perogative.
