After you get the CFW can you go back to the original emunand that you created with gateway?

If it flashes white then black, it means the exploit worked. It should boot into home menu afterwards.

hmmm mine goes white flashes black then goes back to white and just stays there i have to hold down the power button to turn my 3ds off.

also does anyone emunand work mine will boot into classic mode then i can update emunand
but after that it wont let me boot in to classic mode anymore. im using gateway 2.5. also tried 2.4b as well. ahhhhh
could anyone attach a video tutorial to this that would help a lot too. ") thanks guys

You should bold out the warning, easy to miss ;)

Anyway i'll prolly wait till enough people will break their 3ds and till maybe a newer improved version appears.

Gonna download some demo meanwhile though i have no idea why this step is necessary, btw you might want to add more info for each step later, personally i tend to question each that isn't properly described, especially if doing stuff wrong might brick my hw.

If you don't download the demo, later the gift of the .cia won't appear

If you create two text files in
Code:
 sdmc:/Nintendo 3DS/<id0>/<id1>/dbs/
And rename them to title.db & import.db. Go into system settings, abd attempt to "manage" the software on the sd card. The 3ds will tell you that some data is damaged, and wants to repair it. This creates the sd card data so you can install things to the sd card, like devmenu. No need for eShop.

Question, what's the point of updating the EMUNAND to the latest version if you can only use pre 7.x key games?
And... Once you do this, you don't need to go into the settings anymore to "activate" the ROM loading? (for menu installed CIAs, of course)

Updating the emuNAND was to download a demo, was the only way some of us knew to get the devmenu install to complete, but you can skip that by doing what idunoe mentioned in his post.

palantine It's better to use HxD Hex editor (it's freeware) and EmunandTool.
Open your NAND backup on HxD and add 0x200 bytes to the beginning (you can copy the first 0x200 bytes and paste at the beginning of the file or whatever you want).
Now you can inject this file into the SD with EmunandTool and the CFW will be able to boot.

I can't get it to work at all. I get the teal on the top screen, and I either get black on the bottom screen or it flashes from black to white and just stays there. I've been trying to figure this out for hours why doesn't it work?

I have a few questions. I think I heard this might not work for some of the newer games? I think that currently the only game I may want DLC for is Fantasy Life, but I still need to beat the game., so I don't plan to get it anytime soon.

So I have 3 main questions...

1. Will games like Fantasty life Rom (not the .cia version) be update able with paid dlc or can I transfer save to .cia and then update?

2. As long as gateway works this should work aswell, or could a new firmware block this and gateway not care to try to make it work? (In case I decide not to get until I beat Fantasy life)

3. I'm sure that online play should not be affected by this but just wondering if anyone has tried to play online with a DLC?

Usually when such a big title leaks the Temp will be the first to report about it (going off of historical reports here, Pokemon SV being the latest one I can recall seeing pop up here)
