Hi folks.

I have a 3DS I've had since new. A while back I dropped a mug and it broke my too LCD. I replaced it with a third party screen (TN) and while the colours look pretty decent I have a ton of blur or ghosting.

It's really noticeable in games like the original Super Mario and Shovel Knight, when scrolling. On the link I posted you can really see it on the trees.

Is that normal? I can't remember if that amount is normal for a TN panel, I know in the 3DS they are more prone to it than IPS, but I haven't anything to compare it too.

Thank you.

I don't notice anything, at least not in the video. Although I'll never understand why so many people praise the IPS screens. I'll take some ghosting over scan lines and black crush. No one plays their DS at some odd extreme angles anyway so the washing out at angles is a non-issue.

It's definitely not normal for the 3DS, this looks more on par with what you'd see on some PSP models (why can't Sony figure out how to do screens?)
If it bothers you, I'd suggest getting an original replacement screen.

Thanks everyone. There were other problems with the 3DS so I decided to sell it on privately for pretty cheap.

I bought a Hyrule 3DS as a replacement and love it.
