Hacking 3rd party battery for DS Lite

I've used such batteries before and have had no problem. I can't comment on this particular brand, but a lot of them probably come from the same factory.

I don't think you need a guide. In case you do, here's a guide:

• Open Battery Compartment
• Remove Battery
• Put in battery

I don't think it needs any more explanation than that

I really wouldnt mess with a 3rd party battery unless if it had a review, i've had a really bad experience with one, got it from Ebay (those 1600mAh) and it lasted fraction of the original NDS battery, like half or less, did measure the time and stuff but its been awhile

i really would recomend you guys to buy OEM Nintendo battery, they sell NDS/L accessories on shop nintendo, but i guess if your a gambling person like me try the new one and tell us if it is any good

FYI: i bought 3x batteries because i thought first and second were defects, 3rd one didnt even charge at all
you can find the 3rd party 1600mAh on ebay and other stores, i would really recommend you to avoid it at all cost

full charge only lasted 2hour 43min before shutting down completely

i'd be interested to see if there are any good 3rd party batteries that add battery life over the OEM batteries..
but in all reality what benefit would nintendo have for not putting out OEM batteries that last longer if it was practical.

beacuse nintendo doesn't want to spend the extra money placing orders for 1600mAh batteries when they already have 1000 mAh.

This Dragon battery looks different from the one you bought from ebay though.

As I'm having no problem using Dragon's European DS Lite charger (bought my DS in US), I'm gonna give this a try.

You will need either a small screwdriver or one thats made to open the battery compartment. If you buy a new battery they usually include one.

I have one of these exact batteries, and I can't say I've too many complaints about it.
Never measured it really, just assumed it was lasting longer than the original.

I too have one of those 1600 batteries and I have noticed that I would only get aroung 2 hours play time on it, at the lowest brightness setting. Very disapointing. I have only just this minute put the original battery in, and I am going to see how it fares.

Ha, I totally forgot about this thread. So ok, here's my take on the Dragon DS Lite battery.

It doesn't last as long as the original battery, despite the claim that it has more mAh. I don't know exactly the actual time to drain it, but I think it along the region of 1/2 to 3/5 of the original battery.

But hey, for a spare battery that's good enough!

In Europe there are quite a few replacement batteries, even from brand names such as Hama. I was thinking of getting spares since the M3 simply *is* thirsty.

Just buy a new one from the Nintendo online store. They are only $15. It's worth it seeing how you won't need to buy a new battery very often.
