Hacking 3ds xl nand dump how?

I'm tech literate and have been catching up on everything here. From the sounds of what I have seen that you may want to backup your nand if you ever do an update. currently my 3ds xl is running 5.0 firmware, the question I have been searching for is how do you do a nand dump?

I've been thinking of trying to join the hunt to find a way to break the 3ds, but need a start or some pointers of where to go.

maybe because your in the NDS section not the 3DS
as there is a guide in there
it requires soldering btw
