Hardware 3DS won't start.. possible brick?

Hi guys,

Yesterday I performed the restore of NAND, but when I try start the console nothing happens now.
It is just a black screen and blue LED stuck of the button of power.

3DS just does not start.

Things I've tried:
- Remove the SD card and start without
- Remove and put the wifi card
- Remove the battery
- Start the recovery mode

What can I do? Hardmod?
If yes, anyone could help in this matter? I do not understand anything of hardmod, but if it is the only solution I wonder how I can do it

Sounds like a hardbrick. Even if you could get into recovery mode you would still need to hard mod as recovery mode will update your 3DS to 10.4. You'll probably need to send your 3DS for hard modding so you can reflash your NAND backup.

Unfortunately I live in Brazil, and here I have not found anyone who understands or do that. If I try to send to another region, it would be very expensive .. which would offset buy a used 3DS.
Even I thought about buying a new motherboard, but do not have here for sale ... just importing from another region.

In that case I think your options are to buy a new 3DS or attempt the hard mod yourself. You could either keep hold of your bricked 3DS and then if you ever travel to another country you could try to get it modded, or if that's never going to happen you could just try to hard mod it. It's bricked anyway so you can't make it any worse

Having some soldier and hard modding experience ( home made xbox 360 scuff controller) before i would have to agree get another 3ds and then try the hard mod, but know you have a high chance of melting the PCB.

Yes i will try. But has some specific tutorial here in the forum? just found lost things. I have many doubts about cable, how connect, what to do after I made the welding cables, etc.

There are two parts to the mod. The first is to solder the wires from the 3DS PCB to a port which can be installed on the 3DS housing. The second is to make a cable to connect this port to an SD card reader. Then you can connect the cable to the hard mod port, connect the SD card end of the cable to a SD card reader, and write the NAND image to the NAND chip.

I'll have a look for some guides for you. What model of 3DS do you have?

Hello! Well, unfortunately you have a soft brick and basically you have 2 options (3 if you're not faint of heart ):
1) Use the recovery menu to update to 10.4, loosing whatever CFW possibility
2) Have someone doing the NAND hard mod (I can help you with that if you don't have anyone else you prefer/trust)
3) Do the NAND hard mod yourself (it's not impossible, all you need is guts, will and a bit of skills at soldering )

When you say that you've restored the NAND, you actually have a dump/copy of your sysNAND before doing updates?
Because AFAIK (and I may be wrong about it) after you do some updates on your emuNAND it won't be compatible to flash back to sysNAND.
Because without a backup of your sysNAND (whatever the version) doing a hardmod now may not help you to restore your 3DS.
I think that you should talk with @mvmiranda through PM in portuguese to sort it out.

A quick search on YouTube didn't reveal anything, but the process is exactly the same. You just solder the port to different locations on the PCB. 3DBrew has the NAND pinouts for all models. Here's the original 3DS (non-XL):
