keep aspec ratio working!!

I dont like that letterbox isn't dark black color. It seems like dark gray but is not my fault, is lack of FFmpeg

You can put any color...but I think black is the best

I dont know why, buy it deppend of video resolution 3DS not play the avi.

I have tested one avi, and I make it with diferents res.

400x176 works in 3DS
400x200 not work
400x208 work
400x200 not work
400x166 not work
400x168 not work
...............

I do not know what's the reason, it's random or it have any explanation

Get your GUI, and change your output res (400x176) to another above that not work, and tell me if it works in 3DS please, As I'm doing something wrong

ffmpeg can automatically letter box videos, simply specify the aspect ratio of the video with "-aspect". For example: a 640x480 video can be converted to a letter boxed 400x240 video by using "-s 400x240 -aspect 4:3".

That said, I don't believe the video needs to be 400x240. If you saw my earlier post, 4:3 videos can be converted to a resolution of 320x240 and the 3DS will play them centred on the screen.

But if we have a 720x304 video...how can I made?

"-aspect" can also be set as a decimal number, so using the horizontal res divided by the vertical res should get you the number you need.

For your example: 720 / 304 = 2.3684

400x176 works in 3DS

Maybe it's just coincidence, but I checked my suspicion with those numbers and found the working ones are all multiples of 16, the non working ones aren't.

Must be multiple of 16. try 400x192 or 400x160.

This works...but only in PC....I think 3DS don't repect the aspect ratio.

I do two tests:

In Pc it show perfect, with letterbox and keeping aspec ratio, into 3DS expand to fullscreen

1280x520 aspect 2.424242424 -> "-s 400x240 -aspect 2.424242424"
In Pc show perfect keeping aspect ratio but in the 3DS it show full screen without keeping aspect radio.

I am doing something wrong???

Hello!!

KEEP ASPECT RATIO ADDED!!!

It really doesn't keep the aspect ratio to 100% but the option makes it as close to real as it allows the 3DS. The result is very very good and much better to put a letterbox to avi. Thanks to homogenized and spinal_cord.

I go to send a MP to SifJar very soon with the new version when the code is clean

then try 24fps with 3DS video
not sure it change something...
