hey guys, since i dont have a 3ds yet, but im about to get one i was wondering.. do you guys know if this works [video] or if it is fake?
since the comments all state that it works
Without testing it, I'd say it probably is; we would have heard more about it, and the comments on the video require approval. Edit: And I'm not going to test it; I'm not going to disable Ad-Block to fill out a "free offer" to get the password to access the .exe files to copy roms to my computer. I like my computer, thankyouverymuch.

Hey all,

Been lurking for a while and decided to get started on some Xmas shopping. Great forums you guys have!

I'm about to pick up a new 3ds for my nephew for Xmas, and am also planning to order an Acekard 2i as well. However, before I pull the trigger I had a couple questions that I was hoping some of you could clear up for me.
  • If purchased this week in stores, what is the current shipping firmware on the 3DS (as of today, Nov. 6, 2011) and will it prevent us from using a newly purchased Acekard 2i?
  • Has the overall build quality of the Acekards improved over the past year and a half or would I be better served going another route. I'm looking more for ease of use for my nephew (9 yrs old) and highest reliability to play games.

Hi Spy, I live in the USA and went to walmart 3 days ago and got a 3DS and when I turned it on it was running firmware 1.1

Get the Acekard 2i if your only looking to play DS games, if your nephew wants to play DS and GBA games then get the supercard DSTWO. the build quality is better on the supercard but it costs half the amount more then a acekard 2i.

I am about to by my sons a couple of flash carts for Xmas, one has a DS Lite, currently has an old R4DS in it, but it only supports 2GB cards and it isn't always recognized on boot up. My other son has a 3DS.
I understand that 3DS ROM playing is still not possible (but maybe in the near future?).
I was thinking a pair of Acecard2i's? Since they seem to have frequent updates and we have no need for GBA emulation (there are several GBA's around the house too). So it would only be the better build quality of the DSTwo that would be of appeal.
Is there anything else that I should consider. The 3DS does get updated frequently so I would like something that gets frequent software updates
Wishlist would be has follows:
1. Game compatibility
2. Software update frequency
3. Price - I know I could probably get a card cheaper for the DSLite, but I would like to just get two of the same card since I then don't have to worry about checking two websites for updates.
4. Build quality

Thanks.

supercard DSTWO has better build quality and more frequent updates than the acekard 2i I believe.

does the acekard 2i support the mario 3d land update already or am i stuck unable to play it because of the lack of updates? i've seen a new update came out today but it doesnt say whether it enhances compatibility with the new firmware or not.

The build quality has gone downhill. They're not crappy but the build could use some help.

I recommend you r4idsn(r4idsn.com) and r4i gold 3ds(r4ids.cn),which can support 3DS 2.2.0-4 and WOOD R4.

I have a question about the 3DS and DSi flashcards compatibility.

3DS and DSi consoles are region locked, right? Was that issue fixed in any DSi flashcard? If I'm not wrong, CycloDSi can run games in DSi mode, but can it run games from ANY region?

If yes, can I hope to play european games on my american 3DS? :( [damn namco killing my chances of playing their games at all costs...]

Ok so I have a question about this. I have an r4i 3ds and I downloaded the 2.o.o update and tried to run it on my card but got the following error: "Sorry the card is not supported. This is an R4i-sdhc 3ds card. Please power off now." What does that mean? Any help would be nice.

Should have said it first, but I'm using an un-updated dsiXL. I have access to a ds phat and ds lite so should i try to update my card with that?

With flash cards you can play games from all regions, U, E, or J etc.......

on the front of my card is printed r4i-sdhc.com.

It's the exact same one from that website, so why is there a problem when I try to update. I only got the card 3 months ago.

Did it have a hologram stick on the back?

If so go check out if it isn't a fake on there website

Then if it's ok download the lastest kernels put them on your card then load you card and go into the setting and update from there

I already did that. That's why I'm asking here for help. I just can't figure out why I can't update is all.

A quick question, but, what would be the best flashcart for the 3DS right now? I was thinking of DSTWO, but I'm not sure...

Hi all,

Pretty sure I am getting a 3DS for Christmas. The flashcard I have used consistently up until now (on the 2 DSLs in the house), is the Acekard 2i.

r4i-gold.co.uk are selling Genuine Acekard 2i 3DS Card - 3DS 3.0.0 - 5E & DSi XL 1.4.3E Compatible for £15ish. I am assuming that this will just work with the 3DS ? Does it need Akaio installed on it like my current Acekards ?

I also keep hearing people say the 3DS is not very good at playing DS games - is that really true ? Surely, with the 3D turned off, it's the same as playing on DSL ?

I know there's no flashcart capable to run 3DS roms nowadays but... Could DSTwo do it in a future with a software update? Or it's likely to appear DSThree for example?
