I have a 3ds but version is 2.2. how to update 4.x

Go here http://www.3dsdb.com/ and type 4.5 into the search bar and pick a game for your region and use it to update to 4.5. Also what is your full firmware version.

You need a game to update to 4.5 there is no choice unless you have a high browser version and someone feels like correcting me.
