Hardware 3DS touchscreen not working properly

I have a new 3ds limeted edition model and the touchscreen is not working properly. I did the notepad test and the left side of the touch screen draws a straight line but then it draws a hump in the middle of it. I am wondering if there is a way to fix this and what the problem is anyway. What happened to cause this is I got my thumb under the gap between the case and the screen and it started to do this. Also if there's a way around this cfw then I would be happy to know you to fix this through cfw because I have it installed.
