Ok the extra slide pad was looking great for me until i found out it needs AAA batteries..
Well hopefully another company will make a different design of it and add a better battery which can also power the attachment.
or atleast a special charger pack like for the wiimotes

It's good to see that more games are compatible and that it's not mandatory. As long as it's optional I think I won't get it cause I like using the touch screen for e.g. aiming. Also 20 bucks seems a little to expensive for that.

AAA Batteries.. I see. At least it wont lower the battery life of the 3DS further by using that thing.

i don't see how other companies can make a peripheral that adds a second analog control, seeing as Nintendo will have most certainly patented this device, and that Nintendo only knows how exactly this device will communicate and be recognized by the 3DS. i'm thinking by the time this device comes out, it will most likely require a firmware update or software (either separate or embedded in the games that support them) that will use it.

I'd would prefer it if the slide pad used a rechargeable battery or the 3DS' battery and it acted like the docking station.

EDIT:- also using the 3DS's charger.

    Oh shit, I just realized...

2nd analog would be perfect for an Armored Core title!

That is, if From Soft decides to publish one for the 3DS, which i highly doubt... [IMG]

Hate these add-ons and gadgets. The Wii had way too many and they fooled me once, but not twice. Not buying it, even though those games are really cool.

lol batteries, I don't think I've bought batteries in the past 5 years.

Nintendo is taking two steps forward and one step back.

Found pics from a post on gaf. Doesn't look so bad, but its obviously something you'd use at home, i.e. not really portable. Mostly due to the thickness ... the footprint AFAIK is still smaller than PS Vita, but the thickness makes its too bulky for a pocket. Then again, the list of supported games are all, so far, more what you'd consider 'console' games, the kind you sit and play for extended periods. I actually like the thinking behind that ... comfy console style controller for when you're butt's planted to the sofa, and just the 3DS itself in your pocket to carry around through the day or on a commute to play some quick Clubhouse Games (I'm hoping it comes back) or knock out another Mario level.

edit: and, I'm still not planning to buy it unless 1) we actually get MH3G and 2) I find the game unplayable without it.

Nah, I am sure that Nintendo will have new 3DS lite development for next year. I dont have 3Ds. I just knew that they will make a new one and better games as well as second slide pad built in.

This. I like my handhelds bulky, stupid though that sounds; the only thing that annoys me is the screen being off center...

A lot of people seem pretty sure of that. I am not one of them. I'm not declaring it won't happen, I just don't see Nintendo going there with 1st party games because it basically negates the touch screen. And if they're not going to support it broadly with their own titles, I don't see it being integrated into the device. I guess time will tell. But next year?? Doubt it.
