So, I messed up my 8.1.0-20U Old 3ds by accidentally updating to 9.5.0-9U. I did have a backup NAND.bin for 8.1.0-20U with my Gateway card, but I mistakenly misplaced it. Is there any other way I can downgrade my old 3ds or get another nand.bin file? I know if I use Gateway, I can downgrade with my old Nand file, but is that the only way I can downgrade? Any help would be great.

If you can find your backup, your only option is a hardware mod (get in touch with @hundshamer if you're in the US like your location flag claims). If you can't find it, there's nothing you can do.

Thanks, I knew I needed a hardware mod (I had heard very little about it though), but I'll have to wait until I can find my nand file.

The most secure place to keep your NAND.bin would actually be the SD card in your 3DS.
Putting it in a Dropbox is a good idea too.

Just some advice so you don't misplace it again.
