Gaming 3ds region free

Does any1 know if the 3ds will be region free?

Well, all the other DS can play games out of their region so I think there's a chance the 3DS would be the same, but we'll have to wait and see.

How suppose to know? They could be using a Wii styled firmware, so more than likely it will be region locked.

95% likely region locked. Two reasons,

* Parental rating systems are different in different regions
* Different markets in different regions

That, and the DSi exclusive games are region locked. As are Wii games. Ninty just doesn't have the capabilities to region lock standard DS games effectively, so they don't. They will with the 3DS.

I think so too unfortunately.
They can make a killing on us Europeans since the yen is getting stronger against the us dollar.
Sure it's getting stronger against the euro too, but the euro is just super cool like that.

save files are the same as on the wii so maybe also region lock

Because, look at Pkmn black and white JAP.
This games can only be played on a jap DSI.

If DSI-Games have region lock, then the 3DS will have it, too.
