Misc 3ds refuses to connect to router

so I bought UM for christmas on eshop and wanted to redownload it problem is it won't even connect to my router i tried the following things already

1)WPS button and Pin
2) switched security to open (just for testing)
3)also enabled mac filter (whitelist) and added the 3ds's mac adress
4) used AP scan to check for conflicting channels and set my router to an unused channel
all of this failed my last thought is the 3ds's wifi antenna is broken (I admit to dropping it plenty of times on accident)
any other things i should try befor cracking it open to replace the attenna?

found the issue 3ds doesnt like NEWER networks my wifi is 5g

yeah, the 3ds, both old and new, are not compatible with 5GHz, only 2.4GHz, so see if the router is dual band. my router is, and it has a separate ssid for each band.

thank you i got it worked out now yeah i swapped it to the 2.4G band and now its working great!
