Hardware 3DS (real) Hardware Specs

I think you should be smart enough not to peg an entire website to one man. Craig has been away from IGN for about two months now. And I give you some of those were ridiculous but most weren't reported by Craig. And more importantly they were never reported as fact. The always stated it was from outside sources so take it as you will. If you, like most people, took that as "OMG confirmed!" thats your fault. They hear it and let every know so they can be on the same level as them. I trust Craig's info if its truly from him. Im not protecting IGN though. Craig has my respect but IGN as a whole lost my trust awhile ago.
I'm blaming the entire site AND Craig for misinformation. I'm not basing this off one guy, but several (Craig included). I thought that was clear. And their writers represent their site's integrity, it's inevitable that if they end up making a lot of obvious mistakes, people are going to start branding the site bad (which is a fair complaint given the recent history). A lot of their staff jump the gun and post misinformation at least within the Nintendo department. No one SHOULD take it as confirmed, but they do. I never took that as confirmed, i suggest you don't make assumptions about what i think. I've never used their site as a source of information as i recall in my posts here, at least without a huge rumor warning in front.

I'm against IGN and Craig's brand of misinformation not because they've misled me personally (i don't believe what they post until it's confirmed by other more reputable sources), but because many people do believe them. That misinformation spreads ignorance. Many people take their word as gospel. Including Craig's, which is not gospel even if he IS respected. No telling where he got that information from. Craig is one of the two people who were spreading the rumor around that 3DS exceeds Wii in raw processing power and is around the same level of power as PS3 and 360 (which is blatantly false, contradicted in the very same article by their own rumored tech specs)-

If IGN gets this right, good for them. But I gave you one bit of info that WAS posted by him that turned out being false based off assumptions by him. I like the guy, but he's human. And i'm telling people to use a source other than IGN to get their information. The shame is that many people DO use them for information. If their information about the dual ARM11 cpu's turns out to be correct (along with the ram), they'll get a bit more respect from me, including Craig.

I'll concede one thing- i should have specified that it's the Nintendo branch of IGN that i'm criticizing. I don't pay attention to the other branches much to be honest. Since they have different staff over there, i'm sure their information differs. So IGN Nintendo is whom i'm referring to when i say they're not a good source of info.

ign reports what they believe is news. it isn't like they make it up. they have no control over if the news is false or true. when digging up rumors, it could be false information, misunderstanding, or maybe it was once accurate, but plans change. craig was at ign for like 10 years. the advantage is gaining reputation and contacts, disadvantage is the flack builds up. funny how you only remember the mistakes. i felt sad when he left

how i understand, 3DS did once have an nvidia tegra, which was changed. i do think in a way 3DS can look better then the wii with better shaders. but with less resolution, it is more efficient with the power it has.

I liked Craig's reviews to be fair (since he played the games and wasn't reporting second hand news), and i don't hate the guy as he seems nice and all. But i'm among the people who highly dislike IGN for their misinformation. They should be more clear when something is a rumor or when they say developers tell them something.

IGN is still much better than Gamespot though at least. For now anyways. If we find out that IGN takes corporate bribes to review games fairly as well, then they'll have sunk even lower.
