I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about what kind of games could be made/ported on the 3DS. Now this isnt a stupid "sup dawgz whut u thk g0nna b on 3DS" thread. I want to know what you actually think the 3DS can do. Not only tech wise (40.5 GPU!!! 40.5 GPUUUU!!!!!!!!) I also mean what do you think the 3DS can do with the shape and the size and the features and other things

I swear to god if I hear ANYTHING about flash im going to behead 100 kitties.

Well, one of the first games ported to the 3DS by capcom was Resident Evil 5 (be it for testing purposes, not releasing). I think that's pretty incredible. Now we get to have graphically astounishing games like Resident Evil Revelations and Tekken 3DS (which also looks awesome) pretty much in the early stages of the 3DS. So down the road there will be made improvements as well.

My only point is that the screen is too small for me and I would have rather seen a system with 1 screen bigger, more crisp and touch functionality. So I'm eagerly awaiting a 3DSXL.

lest hope .......HOPE ............. no really HOPE gamecube games

Myself, I based my hope on it's gaming capacity according to few news I read before ang ot my attention.

1), that Ubisoft manage to run the Unreal engine 3;
2), that the Conduit (Wii) engine runs on the 3DS using the Conduit 2 assets;
3), and that I saw many amazing 3D effect in each game.

The 3DS has potential to be kind of a portable Game Cube with massive online freatures (at last, much better that the Wii).

But this doesn't mean anything =_='

As the 3DS is receiving a port of Tales of the Abyss, I think it has te power for PS2 games at last (a port of .hack GU will be great!!!)
I would class it more as a demake, same as the MGS 3DS game.

Check the above threads, first.

The 3DS is capable of quite a lot.
That alone should be apparent when you note the fact that the Resident Evil: Revelations trailer is rendered in real-time (it's the same case with the Naked Sample. It's up to the developers as to whether they take advantage of this power or not. The 3DS is still quite early into it's lifespan so it would be unreasonable to expect games released recently to look amazing, though.

For now, we'll just have to play the waiting game for some of the AAA titles to come out
  • Kid Icarus: Uprising
  • Resident Evil Revelations
  • Mario Kart 3DS
  • Super Mario 3D
  • Professor Layton Vs Ace Attorney
I'm quite disappointed in Nintendo's inability to produce a good, functional online system. For some reason, the 3DS still uses the archaic friend-code system, lacks a method to chat with friends and has a half-baked online shop that is almost impossible to navigate through. In this day and age, this kind of shit is unacceptable.

If Nintendo keeps up with this, the 3DS will be blown away by the Vita. The PS Vita improves on pretty much every aspect the 3DS fails in. I'm not sure if the engineers at Nintendo are just being stubborn or if they are incompetent to the point that they can't manage to make a working online service.

I'm trying to find out what's wrong with the 3DS's online services... I mean, sure, there's one friendcode, and we haven't really seen many games use online. It's certainly better then the PSP online gameplay, which really just sucks horribly.

StreetFighter 4 3DS has great online. Are there any other online games?

You read about them and then saw the amazing 3D effects in the article? Amazing!

Also you don't have to sign your posts with your name. If you look to the left of your post right above where it says "SSF43DE Master" everyone can see your user name.

I'm sure I could get the Source game engine working on the 3DS.

Albeit at 1 frame-per-second but it's running nonetheless.

I think it's time for Iwata to go home. He is bringing Nintendo downhill since the Wii.

is that a joke or just a troll ?

I am serious. Last game I played on my Wii is Conduit 2. And I only use it for WiiMC. And the lack of features on the 3DS is just another proof.
