I lost the little tab. I installed that and now the thing is working perfectly. So in case anyone finds this thread in the future my advice is to make sure your cable is short, that will cause it to just not show up anywhere and make sure that your little tab is there so the drive doesn't show up as locked.

np, someone else made the same mistake a while back and they had done the wiring and everything....makes you feel stupid when you over look something so simple
