Hacking 3ds freeze when turned on with r4

Hi! i just downloaded some custon firmware for my nintendo 3ds, and got fbi and homebrew launcher on it. i downloaded r4i launcher, and managed to start the r4, but when i chose one of the games i had on it it just froze. i got so mad because i had been doing this for a couple of hours, and turned the 3ds off. now when i turned the 3ds on again, it wouldnt start, only the blue led was on. i tried to take out the r4, and then i managed to turn the 3ds on, but when i put the r4 back in when the 3ds is on it just freeze, and if i try to put it in before i start the 3ds, it wont start

Welcome to GBAtemp.
This sounds like a bad R4 and/or contact issues. Try another DS system, preferably the original DS "Phat" or a DS Lite.

You can replace the R4 with TWiLight Menu++

i tested the r4 on my ds lite, and it started just fine, but i didnt start any games as i just fixed the kernel on it, and i wanted to fix it for my 3ds right away

by the way, it is a r4i gold pro if that has anything to say

If a flashcart freezes a 3DS this is normally a defect or contact problems. Try cleaning the contacts with electronics cleaner or isopropyl alcohol.
Maybe the paper trick could help (no idea if applicable on your R4).

I don't have any other ideas. Since it freezes before starting the kernel there is not much else that could be done.

didnt work with the paper trick. the problem is that about 2 seconds after i put the r4 in the 3ds, both screens freeze
