3DS error "Game Card cannot be used"

Hi there,
I am currently trying to fix a PAL Pokemon Y game with the "this game card cannot be used" error once you try to boot the game.
The game card and banner pop up just like normal in the 3DS menu.

Sadly all I could find is a bunch of people either saying:
"Check the region" -> I have like 5 3DS systems which are mostly PAL, but also all run Luma (also I am from Europe anyway)

or:
"Clean it" -> This cartridge was bathed and scrubbed in Iso

I even tried to reflow the chip with plenty of flux (+ care) and checked all the pins under a microscope for movement (no movement detected by me)
The 2 tiny capacitors are also fine.

Honestly, at this point I just want someone to tell me that the chip is just beyond repair.

Hope someone can help me disclose my illusion of getting that thing back to work.

Yo esdeath, have you managed to get the cart working again?
I'm having the same problem with Xenoblade Chronicles 3D
(Same cartridge, Same N3DSXL - Even tried it on my brother's N3DSXL - both unmodded)

I did try this cart on an o3DS after getting Luman3DS running on it.
I ran it just to see what happens (and of course it didn't run) so I just stored it away. A few months after (now), I decide to start a 'New Game' - see if it clicks this time around, and nope, 'Game Cartridge Cannot Be Used'

thx for the recommendation, right now the 3DS is crunching those refreshes =)
