Hi, I am soon going to get a 2DSxl and was wondering if there was an emulator for the 2ds that would allow me to play 3ds roms.

No. twilight menu is for regular DS.
With the 2DS you can just install your 3DS cias or run the 3dsx format games just normally without any other emulator. You just wont have 3D capabilities.
Note that you'll need cfw for installing cia files.

You don't need Twilight menu to run 3DS games. You instaill the CIA you pirated somewhere and play the game. Twilight is used for NDS and other consoles.
Thanks this was very helpful

The best place that helps you step by step with installing CFW and everything you need to know.
Read and follow the guide carefully because as there always is a risk to brick your console.
If you do everything as it says in the guide, you'll have a CFW 2DS XL and will be able to install and play your 3DS roms/cia-s.
It's a bit lengthy if you do it first time, but it should take you no more than 1 hour.
Good luck with it and have fun after you finish it. :)

For some reason I came here thinking that it was some way to run exclusive New 3DS games like Xenoblade and Minecraft on 2DS or Old 3DS.
