The earphone slot is the circle thingy in the middle of the 3DS clamshell

Was going to say something along the lines of this originally. It's pretty baffling that you couldn't find it yourself but with the quality/nature of all 3DS related threads recently it's easy to get used to stupid threads like this.

How is the sound quality with ear buds? I want to listen to loud music. DSi volume is too low without Moonshell.

I am surprised no one suggested that he look in the manual at the picture that tells you all about the ports...

Are we cutting down the tree's for nothing?

It's actually more quiet than the DSi's earphone sound (if that's even possible

) . That's a strange fact given the 3DS's external speakers are so loud and impressive.

not noob, you just don't bother reading manuals or even watching youtube 3DS first looks

Mate a headphone jack is a headphone jack hahahahaha. You all have ipods, cd players, old DSs/whatever else that have them. It should not be difficult to find one on a small rectangular device that fits in your hands. Manual shouldn't even need to be consulted.
