Hacking 3ds DSI Ware Transfer

I have 2 new 3ds consoles and want to use dsi ware transfer method in 3ds.guide but was wondering in there is any way of restoring the data on the target console after the tutorial

If they are both old or both new you can first transfer the target to the source, and after seven days, do the normal DSiWare hax tutorial, in the process moving the target's data back to the target.

No they won't. The data will be transferred to the source then back to the target. If you made a typo and meant source, they can do a NAND and SD card backup before the first transfer and retain the source data also.

But. If the Target console has a NNID, it must be System formatted in order to receive a transfer from another 3DS. It would mean losing the savedata of digital games and extdata in general too.

If the Target doesn't have a NNID, you can transfer without formatting, though.

Well now that you understand, you won't have to give people incorrect information in future.

Also, one of the comments you quoted was to Olmectron, who I think very highly of, hence the comment

I said this on the beginning so you aren't adding any new information with your comment

And anyway, the OP did not say he had a ntrboot capable flashcart in the beginning. It is not up to you to make value judgements about how important someone's data is, and whether something is worth it or not. It is our job in replying to questions to give people all the information they need to make judgements for themselves based on their own values.
