Hacking 3DS Acekard 2i new Micro SD

Hey all.

I just got a new micro sd card and had a acekard 2i from before. I wanted to know if I can simply format the card, download the latest AKAIO, paste the files onto the Micro SD card and start playing on my 3DS? Or is there more to it?
My major concern is that "rumor" or whatever about the 3DS getting bricked if we use our flash carts.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

One the bricking rumor is total bullshit
Two Download this. And use a DSLite (phat) or out of date DSi flash your Acekard 2i, it will then work on the 3DS, but it won't work on the latest DSi firmware just yet. They will be releasing that release next week.

Is there any way at all to do this without the need of another DS? Cause I know NO one that owns a NDS and I just traded my DSi XL for the 3DS...

If you didn't update and you have no means to flashing it, then no.
You need another DS.
