so i remember seeing a thread once that said doom for 3ds has 3d effect support. and we all know Nintendo dropped the ball big time on their 3d classics collection.

so I was wondering, is there any homebrew games that use the 3d effect?? and is there a way to put 3d effect in different roms,, like original Zelda or Mario 3? what about snes or gba games

Nope. The 3D classics (except for 3D Sega Genesis/MegaDrive games) are ports of the original games. They're not emulated.

What is portal?

And if the genesis ones are not ports but are emulated then could there be hope? Is it possible at all for someone to alter a rom and add 3d effect to it

Portal is the greatest little game ever made. Smea's port for the DS is sort of playable but make sure to play the real thing (PS3, PC) before playing Smea's version so it doesn't put you off!

The DS version has just enough glitches for it to be a fun/difficult speedrun, the 3DS version is way too easy.

Pity. It'd be cool if there was a tool to basically just convert any NES rom into a 3D classics style one by basically applying a standard 3d effect depending on what layer sprites or objects were in.
