No you can't run the launcher(s) if you have 3.4 the update removes any cIOS(s) you have.
That's just plain bullshit and rumors. I upped to 3.4E, and then downgraded with cIOS Downgrader and IOS Downgrader to 3.2E to reinstall Starfall as you can see in this post if you actually cared to read the thread before posting.

No, the 3.4 update DOES NOT REMOVE cIOS (at least not Waninkokos cIOS rev7). It does replace IOS254 which prevents PatchMii from being run, but since cIOS normally is installed as IOS249, that one is untouched. Missing IOS254 could be a problem if you installed 3.4 without having cIOS, but since IOS16 still is unpatched, and HBC is working, you can most probably still use the instructions in this thread to get cIOS and whatever up and running and reintroduce the signing bug. You can verify that those other IOS:es are untouched here.

@DarkLG: Can you STOP BULSHITTING without verifying what you say to avoid confusing our newbs. I don't only mean your above comment, but also stuff like:

3.4 isn't coming out until they make playing vc games from sd card possible.

Nope not if you have Wiiconnect24 on.
And the like in this same thread. If you have nothing that your certain of, and can give references to, to say; please shut up!

As I expected.

now you have to figure out 3.4 if you fudged up

Providing the Homebrew Channel was still installed while you were updating to 3.4X, this guide works fine. I just tried it now and everything works fine.

If you haven't got the Homebrew Channel on you're 3.4X Wii, you're screwed for now.

I'm starting to like Nintendo for the updates. They provide great forum entertainment.
Or at least uses up DB space and traffic ...

Thanks for an informative HackMii update btw. Keep up the good work!

You like them for Wii updates? Just take a look at some new DS roms or Wii ISOs which come with some kind of protection. Those topics rock

On top of that, we'll probably get to see the successor of the Twilight Hack in the form of another save exploit. I can't wait for it

Haha I agree... I really liked your Hackmii update. Thats quiet exactly what I wanted from the start.
I rather not try to mess with the system itself.

I'm still confused about something (getting back to the AC question from a few pages back).

I'm on 3.2U
I never updated to 3.3 v1
For 3.3 v2, I manually installed IOS51 and WiiShop Channel (update)
For Animal Crossing, I manually installed IOS38.

For Wii Music and Animal Crossing (retail copies), I still get prompted for a system update. I assume it wants to bring me to 3.3 v1 System Menu.

I can use GeckoOS to get by this, but what can be done so that it does not think I need to update?

I'm getting a new Wii from Nintendo. And I'm kinda afraid they're gonna put the newest update on it. So if they do, I'm fucked?

They rpobably will and yeah your fucked.
I'm pretty sure team twiizers have a few game-exploids in their sleeve, but they probably won't release it untill they have Bootmii and/or a few other things out.

I wouldn't count on it. A friend of mine bought a Wii a couple of months ago and it still had 3.1 on it while 3.3 was the most recent version then.
If you go to a shop where they have a lot of Wii's in stock I'll bet you also have 3.1 or 3.2. Off course after a few weeks they might have the 3.4 firmware.

Still, it is very reasonable to assume that 3.4 is *not* entirely uncompromisable; it will simply be a matter of time before another exploit is found.

So, you're only fucked *for now*. ;)

New how? As in repair replacement? I got a repair replacement for my 3.3Ea machine back from Nintendo last month with 2.2E on it, this was only a day prior to the release of 3.3Eb on Oct 23rd so I'd guess you'd be very unlucky for it to come back with 3.4 on. I'd also be surprised if new retail machines were cutting edge current regarding firmware.

Thanks.

I'm confused...
I've a wii with 3.3U (23th october update)..
What is the difference between 3.3v2 and 3.4?
I have a Cios Installed on my wii, but I don't know if it's from Wanninkoko...
Can I just keep using trucha signed games with geckoOS?(If I patch with the ios Downgrader).
Thanks guys.
