Don't confuse him Tichinde.

This 3.4 update does not auto-update. However, if you choose to update to 3.4, all other future updates will auto-install.

do you need to update to 3.4in order for WiiSpeak and the WiiSpeak Channel to work? i thought people were saying that since it is new hardware the Wii will have to update in order for it to function.

thoughts?

I think just using ACCF's update will be ok. Seems wiispeaker requires ios38, but i don't know about the wiispeaker channel.

QUOTE(Tichinde925 @ Nov 18 2008, 02:53 PM) I think it does.

I believe the auto updates start with this update, meaning you would first have to update to 3.4 then the auto updates would happen.

It says so on that Nintendo support site.
That's terrible. I'm going to shut down my wireless network while playing wii.

well in the end, it's hard to prove either way, so it really doesn't matter if you pirate or not, it's likely only you will know.

i have to wonder what they mean by helping law enforcement. it could be they have some plan to go after pirates, but I have no idea how they plan to catch them. of course, with surprise updates you never know, they might just try to use the dmca to go after anyone using the homebrew channel by saying it circumvents the channel signature protection.
i don't want to give them any ideas, though...

but, i don't think there's an easy way of proving one has pirated game discs.

requiem4d: wow you're quick... good luck. i might have a look if i get some time or can figure out how to properly decompile it.

dinofan01: relax man

, the pirates and non-pirates are all in the same boat here.

Yes it's true. Open up the Google cache of the ToS, and it was changed yesterday.

OK, I've patched the signing bug into ios50... installed the new mii channel... trying to work out auto updating and channel removal in the new system menu. I'll keep you updated, and release a modded patchmii as soon as possible.

That's all good and well that Nintendo want to block illegal software. (I'm looking at you, wii ware pirates and backup loaders).
But this sounds like they're going to force updates, that's not cool.
I love using the homebrew channel to play imports and hack brawl, they don't even like simple things like action replays, ugh.
