Hacking 3.2 Update Disc's for region U/E/J

Didn't work for me.
Shows up as a GC game in menu and boots to black screen. After a power cycle, wii boots fine but is still at 3.1u.
I DL'ed both versions of the 3.2u iso and burned on Verbatim at 4x.
I'm still kickin' an OpenWii with 2.4 on it. It works fine with older stuff.
Any ideas for getting this to go or alternative methods for going to 3.2u?
