Hacking 2x a9lhax 3ds can't play local multiplayer.

Hey guys,

I have two 3ds, both on the same version of a9lhax, both with freeshop installs of games (mario kart, new super mario 2) and both on the latest firmware.

I can't get them to see each other when trying to play a local multiplayer game in either mario kart or new super mario 2. One of the 3ds was banned, so I initially thought it was the problem (although multiple sources said that the 002 ban did not affect local multiplayer). I unbanned it using a public seed and I still have no luck.

We can see each other in the friends list screen, but in game they can't see each other.

Any tips?

Are the games the same region?

I am just downloading them both again from the freeshop, to make sure they are both the same region games.
