I got my 2GB today, made in Taiwan. I tried Castlevania POR and it seems to work fine. What are some other games that are supposed to have problems so I can try them out?

Try the wrap points a few times and see if it freezes on you (Castlevania POR)
Also did you format the microsd, if so what settings did you use?

Yeah, it will lock fastest at obelisks or portraits. Try those locations to test for lock-ups. Wailing on the pause button can cause locks sometimes too.

As far as I know, the only other game with an issue on the R4 is Tony Hawk....and it just has an issue with the in-game timer being slow or something to that effect....I never tried the game myself, but with my Transcend 2gig (which is a pretty slow card), PoR locks at obelisks and portraits immediately. I own the actual cart, so it's not a big deal to me.

I seem to remember peeps also saying that the opening movie in Dawn of Sorrow can skip and hesitate if your microSD is too slow. But I won the real cart of that too, so I never tried it.


That's about it. If there are any other "problem games", I'd like to know what they are too. I've ran over 100 different games through my R4 and PoR is the only one that ever messed up on me.

OK, I did some more testing with POR. I did get it to lock up once out of about 12 tries through warps/portraits. Not that big of a deal because I own the real game (still sealed though, I'm a Castlevania collecter), and if I really want to play it some more I can always use my G6 Lite cart...

Sometime while browsing items in the pause menu could also freeze it.
