Hacking 2ds and 3ds net connection problem

I tried to visit a friend of mine on acnl other day and was mind ya im on a mobile hotspot. I couldnt visit her and she couldnt visit me. Is it cuz im on a hotspot or just plainly the 2ds/3ds didn't want to connect?? It's annoying me and her. I got updated cfw on both systems. Parental controls off. Spotpass off btw.

Does the connection work at all on the 3DS? Can you use the web browser?
I've always found using a PC hotspot with my 3DS to be problematic, it either wouldn't see the hotspot or wouldn't connect. With my phone hotspot it seems to work but every phone model is different, if your phone's chipset is just incompatible with the 3DS for some reason there might not be anything you can do. Well, I suppose you can try doing USB tethering to a PC, and then share the connection over wifi with something like Connectify - as said I could never get a PC hotspot to work with the 3DS though.

Yes as far as i can tell my net seems fine in browser. Ill recheck and do some research about the pc tethering. Never know might work. Heres hoping. And ty for the help. If anyone else got ideas. Lmk. Pls and ty.
