I would say a 64Gb card is just fine.
Personally, I'm not able to play more than 3-4 games at the same time... so I think that installing 50+ is already overkill.
I don't know, I would be able to choose between many different games but I would play... 5-10 minutes at most?

Do what you want, because pirates are free!

j/k! :rofl2:

I have 128gb and I have more than enough space for whatever. They are down to $50 on amazon or microcenter. You'll just have to format it to fat32.

My 3ds has a 4gb sd card, and I'm thinking of getting a 256gb for my birthday. What do you think :O? Will it work?
I don't think it's overkill for wanting a 256gb sd card but you would be better off getting two 128gb sd cards instead since the 3ds has a 300 install app limit so even if you had the space for it all, not all of it would show. With two 128gb sd cards though you could have two sd cards setup with emunand so you could then have up to 600 app/games installed, 300 per sd card. Something like 1 sd card for games while the other for vc games.

You can, but I think there are wiser ways to spend your money. 16Gb should be plenty.
uh no. 16gb runs out way too fast. the more memory the better. I say go for the 256gb! I just got a 128 and its nearly full. I have maybe 8gb left on it because of all my vc roms, large file games, and a few other things.

256GB is pretty overboard for 3DS games since we can really only follow around 3 games at once. However, it's great for full rom sets if you're planning on using emulators.

I'm using a 128GB cart with every NES, SNES, and GameBoy ROM plus a few Playstation games too.

64GB of space should be more then enough considering most titles average 2gbs with exceptions of the very few that are larger. And even more that are less then 1gb

I also would like to advice against the 256GB card in favor of 2 128GB cards, for the simple fact that 256GB cards are still pricey. On a more personal note, I dislike having everything in the same place, in case the storage fails or I screw something up.

i suggest that you could get two 128gb sd cards instead , With two 128gb sd cards though you could have two sd cards set up with emunand so you could then have up to 600 app/games installed, 300 per sd card. and not that complicated for finding games back and forth,

why would anybody do this, you can do this with an unlinked SysNAND and EmuNAND ON THE SAME SD CARD. you can also do 2 EmuNANDS on the same SD Card and have the same results.

you'll hit the 300 game limit before it's full better to stick with 128gb or lower, 200GB+ is also much higher price per gig

it will work, but 256gb is a bit overkill. i have a 64gb with 43 big title games on it and still have 16gb free.
Get a 128 MicroSD card, you will regret getting a 256GB SD Card if you ever switch to a New 3DS as it will not fit in the console. you can however always use a MicroSD to SD adapter in your 3DS with no problems.

The kind of answers in this thread are so annoying.

Listen up.

The OP doesn't care if you think 256gb cards are expensive, nor does care if you think 16gb is enough. And unless you're using a 256gb card and can therefore confirm that they work, I'd wager he also doesn't care about your setup.

The OP wants to know 1 thing and 1 thing only: will a 256gb card work on a 3DS? The answer is either "yes" or "no". All other answers are of no value whatsoever.

If you don't know the answer and have nothing of any value to say, move on to the next thread and stop clogging up threads with pointless, irrelevant nonsense.
