What do you mean "on the ds, dsl, dsi"?

Without using the flash card? Then how or where the hell should you put it?

What "roms"? There's a LOT of roms.
.nds
.gba
.gbc
.smg
.sfc
.nes
Those are all roms. What rom are you talking about?

I think he/she is trying to say that can you load roms straight from the DS/DSi... The answer is no... Not unless you own a flashcart, or play DSiware on a DSi... However investing in a flashcartridge is not a bad idea at all, media centers, backups, homebrew there's a lot you can do...

no the carts are read only so your save file cannot be rewritten to your flash cart
are you saying you can't save on a flashcart ?

maybe he just means you can't save on the flash cart itself, but rather on the memory card that's in it?

Let me answer this.
1- if your asking just plain old roms on a regular ds/l/i, then No. If your asking flashcart, Yes.
2- same answer as #1
