You seem to have completely missed the point. He wasn't saying you're gay. He was using the word 'gay' as an insult. Like when people say "that's so gay" when they actually mean "that's so bad". As a gay person I find this use of the word "gay" pretty offensive.

Bit off topic but why do we as humans have to label things I don't care if people are straight gay or bi if you are a good person that is all that matters to me. The world would be so much better if we stopped labeling things. Labels are for clothes not for people

Human brains typically understand the world through concepts. It helps them to quickly work out what things are, how to interact with them and how to communicate about them. In communication concepts are expressed as words, which serve as labels representing some characteristic of the thing being described.

We need to label things and people. If we didn't we would be unable to communicate efficiently, let alone understand what's going on around us. Labels are good. The problem isn't the labels, it's the assumption that by labelling something you are expressing a universal truth, or a comprehensive description, or a fundamental characteristic, when the truth is that people are more complicated than that.

I'm happy to be labelled as a number of things (gay, autistic, man, human, geek, gamer, programmer etc) as long as the labels are being used accurately and for an appropriate purpose and not in an attempt to reduce me to just that concept or to make assumptions about me.
