Know Your Temps Info

For those of you that are new to the game, here are the rules:

- One user will be put on the questioning stand every two days (or so)

- Once that user's session of questioning starts, anybody can ask that user a reasonable amount of questions they want via posting on the thread

- These questions can be about anything. Personal life, GBAtemp/internet life, pet peeves, musical tastes, "what if" situations... ANYTHING!

- Please try to post all your questions at once, in one solid post

- Upon receiving questions, the user that is in the spotlight can answer them at anytime, as long as it's before their time is up

This quirky little activity will help us get to know our fellow 'tempers even better in an exciting, chaotic manner! Those who have an upcoming KYT session will be notified about their upcoming session via PM.

Hey guys. I was once a semi-popular Flash animator and ROM hacker. You can see many of my old animations on Newgrounds, and many of my ROM hacks on my website here.

Many popular posters have quit since I've joined, and I've seen the site here go through some serious changes.

I once had an epic signature that was all text, but it was a couple pixels too big. Rather than asking/telling me to change it policy is to removed without warning. I've never bothered to remake it, the glory is gone.


I am a business student. I'm the sole proprietor of a San Francisco tech company I started. I am probably the only person on this board who has studded any law, and as expected I find the popular amature lawyering here hilarious.
I studded Japanese for years, completed a Japanese minor, and studdied abroad in Japan for a while. I watch anime without subtitles but don't usually play video games in Japanese anymore.


So go ahead ask me anything.

Yes, but if one always dwells on yesterday, he can't enjoy today or tomorrow as much. Even though I ripped on Urza for his purple text when he was new, I miss a lot of old posters like he and scuba.

They're good. Smart and witty with quality posts.

No way. Certainly less but still very regularly.

what do you mean by TA? a Testing Area? I didn't think it was that significant, just use part of real posts to test stuff!

What is you favorite puyo game?
I'm not sure. Probably Puyo Puyo! 15th Anniversary. I was a big fan of both Fevers though and I'm playing through a legit copy of Puyo Puyo 7 slowly. That's some really easy Japanese.

I alternate between a Motorolla Razor (the second revision) and an Apple iPhone (again, the second revision). I use a very cheap T-mobile plan so there are disadvantages to both. Thinking of copying my SIM card so I can use both.

They say lunar and tidal effects can have some bearing on human cognition similar as it does to certain animals. Research is inconclusive as far as I know, so teh difference is probably negligible.

Wow, own business, you must be incredible eh? Not really. Most businesses in the US are actually small independently owned businesses. Also two-thirds of businesses die very early on in their lives. It's a wonderful opportunity I have, but weather or not I succeed depends on my own strengths from here.
Political affilation? Hmm. I'm registerred as a Libertarian but would never vote for one. I care a lot about voting on bills, laws, and regulations, but not so much for national candidates. I do pay close attention to local elections.

Why did you originally join GBAtemp those many moons ago? The flash cart reviews. I lovoed the detail and accuracy. One of the things that makes me really sad about the site these days is the reviews are almost never updated with compatibility changes. They used to be the top-tier reviews on the internet. I felt I could go to the website any time and easily check cart compatibility. Now this is not so, and many carts still report 100% for those who do not support some DS games, much less DSi or Wii features.

What made you studded.. ahem.. study law? Honestly, a desire to understand law a little better. I knew if I was going into business it would be important to understand some of the law about it. I'm really glad I did and I may try to get a JD in law (a two year advanced degree) but for now I'm focusing on my Master's Degree (4 post-graduation years) in Business

Just how fluent are you speaking Japanese, enough to hold and understand a conversation with a native speaker? Yes, but not enough to discuss things such as medicine, East-Asian Politics, or Science. I can not read as many kanji as an average Japanese Middle School graduate and since I returned to the US my Kanji skills have only gotten worse.

Favourite tv show? Tough one. Probably South Park.

They are difficult to compare, but I prefer a pirate as they are free, as opposed to ninja who historically work for their master or the highest bidder.

I'm very happy living in San Francisco but I would like to see London, Sydney, Toronto, and New York.

What does "Heran Bago" mean?
It's a move the Brazilian martial art Capoeria. It can be seen in Tekken's movelist for Eddy Gordo or one of his clones. It's a move where the fighter kicks while falling/laying down. I used to study martial arts, I got a blackbelt in Shaolin Kenpo Karate, then I got seriously tired of it and I quit.

Do you like Japanese-made (developed?) games?
Yeah a lot of them. Not all of course, many are shit. That's a really big category there. Western ones can be good too.

Do you like flash cartridges?
Yeah, mostly for homebrew but also for ROM hacking. I like the legal applications of the technology moreso than the illegal ones. I dislike the Japanese use of "majikon" for flash cartridges but they love their outdated abbreviations. College students still refer to Microsoft Word as "wapuro" or "Word Pro" from back when it sucked.
