Make a nand backup (not strictly necessary but always a good idea and before updating is always a good time), update luma to the latest version by replacing boot.firm in the root of your sd card, do a system update as normal, update bootntr selector if you use ntr "cfw" features. You might also want to update twilight menu++ and nds-bootstrap (assuming you use them) while you are at it.

k, it's all updated, but now Luma is saying "could not obtain update details, check your internet". I have the luma updater downloaded, whereabouts in the sd card should i put the updater files?
Your not using any "updater" for Luma3DS your manually updating it as I told u

so luma is technicnally updated error message aside? Guess I won't need the updater then

Sounds straightforward, might update bootntrselector while I'm at it

If you don't update bootntrselector then it won't work properly with Luma v10 so you have to update it if you want to continue using it. Also, if you already did a system update that is fine, just make a nand backup as soon as you can and in the future remember to at a minimum do a nand backup before every system update (ideally more often).

Will do that, it has been a while since I did an update. Thanks for the help :D
