Hacking Homebrew thinking of getting a psp slim

Close, has to be 3.50 OR lower, if it 3.71, then it currently cannot be hacked without pandora. Again, if 3.5 or lower, and read here for more info... It does work on a mac since all your doing is copying files onto a USB device (memory stick). You will use the exploit to install a hacked...

Hacking Homebrew thinking of getting a psp slim

It depends on what PSP you really want. If you want a fat PSP, you can downgrade it to 1.50 and play all PSP homebrew, and some runs a bit faster (ME{Media Engine} support, used in certain emulators and such). If you want a Slim PSP, you can plug the video out into a TV, it is lighter, much...

Hacking Homebrew thinking of getting a psp slim

The best method would be with another already-hacked PSP. You need 2 main things, a Pandora battery, and a Magic Memory stick. To make a pandora battery, you need a fat psp battery (slim psp battery is un-hackable at the moment, it will brick it if you try, it needs to be made in china), or you...

    Hacking Rominator for NDS

Not sure if you'll include it, but the Twilight Princess E3 trailer, and the Level 5 Premium Silver demo are both XXXX DS ROMs, there are about 4 iQue games dumped. (Chinese DS, also listed as XXXX ROMs) Edit: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?gon=1&ndslist=1&os=xxxx, also listed as Others under the...

Hacking Homebrew thinking of getting a psp slim

If you do have a hacked PSP-Slim and you want to make a pandora battery to hack another PSP, don't. Not with the original battery anyway. The slim PSPs ship with a battery made in Japan that does not work with pandora, and will possibly brick the battery if you try to use pandora on it. The old...

    Hardware GBA Save Backup?

I tried eepinator and the save dumper in GBALdr. Both don't work. Using GBALdr gives me a 512 Kilobyte file every time, for every game using SRAM and Flash, none of them seem to work. I'm testing eepinator to dump the SRAM from Pinobee, dumping the SRAM gives me a 64 kilobyte file filled with...

Hacking How to convert from one format to another?

I also want to backup a link to the past, but GBAldr doesn't seem to backup EEPROM. (LttP uses EEPROM) Whenever you try, you end up with a 512 kilobyte file filed with (HEX) FFFFFF. There is a utility for slot 2 flashcards that support DLDI that backs up EEPROM, but it doesn't work on a slot 1...

Hardware is the component cable worth it?

On digital cables your right, but Component is Analog. Their is a minor difference between different quality cables, but usually not big enough to pay 200-300$ for higher-end cables.

    Acekard R.P.G. in-house at GBAtemp

It theoretically can if someone would write drivers for the Acekard, you may be able to copy files back and forth, but you wouldn't be able to run games directly off of the USB stick. If it was FireWire, then it would be much simpler, and would be possible, but USB requires the data to go...

    Hacking ndstrim 1.0

Here is a pre-compiled mac version (CLI, Universal Binary). I'll see if I can whip up a quick Cocoa GUI later today. And another small bug report. You should probably have a test for if the file actually exists before you try doing anything, otherwise it bombs with the error "./ndstrim: fopen()...

Hacking how to use pictods on the mac

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
