Hardware 3DS XL Hardmod: Lifted CMD Pad. Lost Cause?

Not really. A trace is what carries the signal, and if it's ripped too much, it's not recoverable. hunshamer looked at my 3DS XL but the trace was lifted too far. So my 3DS XL is now junked. On the bright side, it's a good excuse to pick up a New 3DS XL once I can justify spending another $200

Hardware 3DS XL Hardmod: Lifted CMD Pad. Lost Cause?

Yeah, it was already bricked (managed to hose it while playing with rxTools, but have a NAND backup). Turning the device on is the same symptoms as before I screwed this up: black screens, no blue, no light even on the screen panel: just blue power LED. Sent it to hundshamer, so we'll see if...

    Hacking 3DS Hardmod

Yeah, I was ready to ship it off when the Internet convinced me that it would be easy to do on my own. If you think this is salvageable, I'd gladly pay whatever the hassle is worth. As it stands, my console is 100% hosed at the moment because I tried something I shouldn't have.

Hardware 3DS XL Hardmod: Lifted CMD Pad. Lost Cause?

A lot of the discoloration is leftover flux, I think. And then we kept trying and trying since we weren't positive if the pad was lifted or not. Never could get it to stick. Also, I fully admit I suck and shouldn't have tried this.

Hardware 3DS XL Hardmod: Lifted CMD Pad. Lost Cause?

I don't solder often, but thought hardmodding would be easy enough. That was a mistake. I believe I accidentally lifted the CMD pad on the motherboard. I'm not even entirely sure that I did, but nothing will stick there now so I'm fairly certain that happened. Here's a crappy cell phone photo...

    Hacking 3DS Hardmod

So I'm an idiot. I rarely solder and thought this hardmod looked easy enough on the 3DS XL, so I attempted it myself. I lifted one of the solder pads on the board. Am I now completely hosed, or is there another way to do this? An alternate point maybe?

    Hacking 3DS Hardmod

My 3DS XL is bricked... turning it on shows blue led, but no screen activity whatsoever. I was planning on doing the SD card mod to reflash a backed up NAND, but am I reading this right that I'll need to use a Raspberry Pi or Arduino instead?

    Hacking [Release] rxTools - Roxas75 3DS Toolkit [fw 2.0 - 9.2]

Actually, eShop MAY have been fine post-upgrade: when restoring my SD card, I skipped replacing some "phcache" (or something) named file; it would make perfect sense that some kind of cache would contain app data for the main screen, so maybe not overwriting that was the problem. I promptly...

    Hacking [Release] rxTools - Roxas75 3DS Toolkit [fw 2.0 - 9.2]

OK, so when creating an emunand, it scrapes the installed OS for that data and injects it into the image? That would explain everything!

Hacking [How-To] Switch from PBT/Pasta/Palantine CFW to rxTools (sig. patched)

So, I went from 9.2 to 4.2 sysnand with 9.8 emunand and CIA installation apps with no hardware at all (Cubic Ninja, Gateway, DS Flashcard). I created a thorough guide for all of the steps I took. I don't want to post them here, because I'm a novice at 3DS modification and may have done a few...

    Hacking [Release] rxTools - Roxas75 3DS Toolkit [fw 2.0 - 9.2]

Thanks, Gadorach, that helps and apologies for the derail. The basis of this discussion was: does creating/formatting EmuNAND under original SysNAND, as opposed to downgraded SysNAND, make a difference? I understand tickets, generated random keys, etc. What you're saying, then, is that...

    Hacking [Release] rxTools - Roxas75 3DS Toolkit [fw 2.0 - 9.2]

Yeah, no shit. Not complete guides for what I was doing, which was to go from no hardware 3DS XL 9.2 to where I got.. Nowhere did I see anybody mention that it matters whether you create emunand in original nand before downgrading. Explain to me why it matters? Edit: By "complete", I mean a...

    Hacking [Release] rxTools - Roxas75 3DS Toolkit [fw 2.0 - 9.2]

There was no complete guide available. It made sense to me, at the time, to create emunand around the same time that I'd be able to test it through rxTools. Is that a bad idea?

    Hardware 3DS XL Possibly Bricked

I did this EXACT same thing. In my case, I chose to dump system title tickets (and hard reset before it completed). I was only guessing what it might be doing (I was assuming/hoping it was just creating a dump of titles that I could import on emunand), because I'm an idiot. Same exact symptoms...

    Hacking [Release] rxTools - Roxas75 3DS Toolkit [fw 2.0 - 9.2]

Shit. In troubleshooting the original eShop problem, I think I bricked my 3DS. I force shutdown my 3DS when rxTools was in the middle of dumping system titles (I decided to try something else in the middle, and figured it was a read-only operation so I didn't think force shutdown would do...

    Hacking [Release] rxTools - Roxas75 3DS Toolkit [fw 2.0 - 9.2]

How do I restore my original eShop purchases onto EmuNAND? I did the following: Copied SD contents to PC Downgraded 9.2 to 4.2 Created EmuNAND using Gateway Launch EmuNAND in rxMode Update EmuNAND to 9.8 Copied original SD contents back to SD card My purchased titles don't show. Is this where...

Hacking [How-To] Switch from PBT/Pasta/Palantine CFW to rxTools (sig. patched)

Oh, so I may be able to just use rXtools to do this? So, with title.db copied over, I just pick extract on it, then inject it? That may be the easiest route.

Hacking [How-To] Switch from PBT/Pasta/Palantine CFW to rxTools (sig. patched)

This makes sense to me. I'm going to give that a try. Thanks!

Hacking [How-To] Switch from PBT/Pasta/Palantine CFW to rxTools (sig. patched)

That didn't work. They don't appear in SysNAND 4.2 or EmuNAND. Would they only show in my original NAND?

Hacking [How-To] Switch from PBT/Pasta/Palantine CFW to rxTools (sig. patched)

4.2.0-U9. I somehow missed instructions on the slot0x25KeyX stuff... where do I find that? In my original SD card backup or something? Edit: Never mind, Google was my friend. auto Last question, and sorry if it's a dumb one... went from zero exploits on 9.2 to 4.2.0-U9 SysNAND and 9.8.0-U25...
