Hacking Numerous fatal errors with setting up Dios-Mios

I tried an unscrubbed, unconverted Super Mario Sunshine and it actually worked. I'm curious if I can use scrubbed ones. I'd read that in an update you didn't need to convert them. What does the disc ripper do when you rip it to the hard drive? Is it just the raw image? How does that play? I'm...

Hacking Numerous fatal errors with setting up Dios-Mios

Hi guys. Alright so last night I finally tried to set up Dios-Mios. I installed 2.0 via wad (I procrastinated not knowing there was a new version), booted up USB Loader rev 1193, pointed it to /games/, but was not able to boot the game. I got an error message saying "fatal error app_main: dst...

Hacking wbfs error: hd num sector doesn't match

Ok so I have a hacked 4.3U wii, everything usually runs fine, but the disc drive is worn out now after leaving it on (was so excited to be running a gamecube again, habit), so I've been trying to back up all my (small collection of) wii games. I only have a couple, so I have a 30GB Fat32...

    Hacking Gamecube Memory manager homebrew?

There was 2 questions, both in the same topic because they both involve using the wii without remote. I got the first one done, which was managing the GC memory card without a remote, but now I need to launch a title wad or wad on SD without going to the wii menu.

    Hacking Gamecube Memory manager homebrew?

    Hacking Gamecube Memory manager homebrew?

I had tried that but to no avail, not realizing the memory card had to be in slot 2. Thanks.

    Hacking Gamecube Memory manager homebrew?

Ok so I managed to buy a temporary wii remote and install BootMii to get the Gamecube Backup loader but I didn't think I'd actually need it and I returned it. Now I'm all happy dandy with my Wii/Gamecube set-up but I kinda have two questions: • Can I manage my Gamecube memory card through...

Hacking Multi-booting GC isos with Mac OS X

I have a mac, but the only multi-boot GC ISO Creators out there that I can find are from the GC days where it was only the one 1.5GB disc, so they don't allow you to create multi-boot discs up to 4.37GB like now. I've gotten these ones running through wine but obviously the space got in the way...

Hacking Booting game/backup without wii remote?

Agh Well thanks for all your help. My problem with buying a wii remote is that I don't really need anymore since I'm getting them back eventually, but with a gamecube you get a whole other console + remote + cables which I needed for my other consoles anyways. The wii might be going out the...

Hacking Booting game/backup without wii remote?

There are currently no wii remotes in this household it's kinda aggravating me rn [hr]Posts merged I don't have a modchip, or an auto-booting one at that. Should have but I never play the wii anyways.

Hacking Booting game/backup without wii remote?

Probably could have made on of HBC and navigated through that or made on of the wii backup loader since it automatically launches the gc one when the disc is loaded through it.

Hacking Booting game/backup without wii remote?

So there's no bootable iso dvds that will allow me to access the Homebrew Channel or anything without some sort of navigation of the wii menu? [hr]Posts merged Totally retarded theory but I have a balance board & an active sports mat. The active sports mat has wii controls and a home button I...

Hacking Booting game/backup without wii remote?

I have this horrible horrible itch to play Gamecube. My Paper Mario disc snapped like 2 weeks after I bought it so I was stuck with it and with the stores being wiped out I have no way of getting another. I found an iso of the game, and can burn it to a disc, but I need to know if it's possible...

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

  • Veho @ Veho:
    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

i think only the red mario kart edition phat was v5

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
