Apple How to jailbreak latest iPhone 4 firmware?

I'm aware that 4.2 or 4.2.1 just came out a few days ago but I couldn't really keep up with the jailbreaking scene as my Internet at home got cut off and I'm busy with uni. I just got a few questions:

1. I already have a jailbroken iPhone 4 on 4.1 currently and I've saved my SHSH blobs. Is it safe to upgrade to 4.2?

2. Anyone care to show me a really thorough way to jailbreak once I upgrade to the latest firmware?

I'm at uni right now (hogging their Internet) so I'd appreciate if responses come hastily (especially if I need to download stuff like limera1n or something similar)

GOOD boy :lol: for saving your SHSH, now pat yourself on the back. to update to 4.2.1 open up itunes->your iphone4 then click the update button. itunes will now backup everything on the iPhone then download the update. after several minutes your iphone will be updated t 4.2.1

to jailbreak 4.2.1 you need the lates redsn0w 0.96b4 found at the iphone dev teams website. download the version for oyur os. once done ru it and locate the 4.2.1 ipsw
once redsn0w recognises the ipsw follow the onscreen prompts

once done your iphoe will be jailboken, however it will be teathered. so whenever you reboot the iphone, you need to open up redsn0w select .ipsw then check just boot teathered right now

redsn0w 0.96b4...

take note that i have no internet connection at home and i can only download stuff at university. so let's say i do the updating in uni then i just download the zip file above and it will work when i jailbreak it later when i get home? no internet involved in the jailbreaking process?

also will i lose my downloaded app store cracked apps when i update or will they be retained? the only cydia app i've downloaded is AndroidLock XT.

yup no internet required for redsn0w to function
if you have cracked apps are transfered to iunes, then they will be kept (reinstall installous remember before transferring apps otherwise itunes will throw you a error)
