Really loved the game, but it was miserable before you could dash. Hope you get on well with it once you get that skill lol

I loved it also yeah, getting stuck there was certainly a low point but the rest is great fun so I didn't mind

Making good progress now. This game doesn't have nearly enough rest spots. It's just tough battle after tough battle and the closest rest spot is nearly all the way back at the starting town.

What do I do with these blue switches?

There’s a skill to manipulate these blue magnetic blocks. Pretty sure you dump one of those onto it.

Woah. Haunt + Dog Years seems like an overpowered combo. Dog Years can't be learned by that many beasts, but I happened to buy one that has "Shared with allies". It just takes spamming Dog Years a few times after using Haunt and you're basically invulnerable forever. In theory anyway.

My favourite combo was:
Echolocation + Custom Starter x6 + Wonderful 7 on my opening two tapes, and then
Custom Starter x7 + Energy Shot on Khepri since it's got obscene R. Atk
You just keep switching tapes around and you're INCREDIBLY likely to automatically do a big attack that'll throw a random status onto everything, or a nuke with Khepri.

Oh yeah, I just bought 6 random starters earlier, that seems pretty OP too. I wish I would find them with +1 slot since I don't have any slots to spare right now :P
Didn't find any custom starters yet.
Echolocation is my favorite sticker by far, but shame only one of my beasts can use it.
And Wonderful 7 seems like it would be really good but I'd have to swap out one of my tapes which I don't wanna do.

I have to say moveset and team building is a lot more fun in this compared to Pokemon. Because you have stickers that interact with other stickers, you have the rare attributes like shared with allies and +1 duration/+1 slot, the slot system, and most of all, passives. Which means there are so many more interesting combinations you can come up with.

The way certain types interact with eachother made battles rather confusing in the beginning but once you get used to it, it's fun. I've always said ice type should be weak to fire type in Pokemon because it can melt. It just doesn't make sense to me that it isn't. Cassette Beasts has an interesting approach to that. If you attack an ice type with a fire type move, it turns into a water type.

Lightning types are the worst in this game though. They'll just constantly spam your entire party with chain lightning. And there isn't much sense in me using lightning types myself to do the same, because most battles that aren't over in 2 turns anyway only have a single (powerful) opponent.

Ice is weak to Fire? Are you confusing it with a different matchup? But yeah the combat in Cassette Beasts is super deep. I felt kinda bad for just cheesing through it with Custom Starter lol

I might have them switched around. Fire should be weak to ice, because the ice melts once it hits the fire type.

That worked great. If I used both of my beasts with haunt I would have taken negative damage overall (thanks to bite)
It just takes 3 turns to set it up. (Smack + Haunt + Dog Years). And with some luck from AP Refund I had enough AP to use Dog Years a second time right after that so it lasted 14 turns.

My other technique for avoiding damage is combining Echolocation and Elemental Wall. It just requires way too much micromanaging and upkeep. But being able to put down a full party wall for 25% of one beast's health is super worth it, which is quickly healed back up with leech or bite. Without Echolocation (or Broadcast), elemental walls aren't that good though.

Is the mountain the last area in the game? I may have found myself in a place I am quite underleveled for. Enemies suddenly jumped from level 40-45 to 60+. It looked like a small area so I thought I might as well quickly do the quest I have there.

@Scarlet Speaking of Custom Starter, if you place Echolocation above it in the move list you'll gain Multitarget before Custom Starter triggers. That's big. That means any cheap move can hit the entire opposing party with a high success rate before they can even do anything.
