The game does become a lot more enjoyable with it. If the dash duration is too short you can also use the in-game cheat menu to extend it. Doesn't really break anything in terms of area accessibility to up it iirc

I know where it is thanks to an ingame rumor, but It's surrounded by a sheer cliff and I can't see any way in, which also surrounds the other town one of the quests wants me to go to. The cave one of the quests points me to is also inaccessible because it requires me to press 4 switches at the same time. Really not sure where I should be going, and I keep having to backtrack to rest so exploring is very slow.

I believe you go around the bottom of the map.

There's a gust of wind blocking the path on the south side. I was trying to find a way up to where the gust of wind is to look for a way to disable it or something but that's as far as I got before I backtracked once again to rest and deliver a quest and took a break.

I thought I might be able to go around north but that would require the swimming ability which would be a much longer detour if it's even accessible right now and I don't even know if there's a way past the cliff from there.

I'm so sure the way is via the bottom. I 100%'d the game a bit ago. I feel like you go past the wind and keep going right. I can boot up the game and have a wander if you're still stuck.

It should be this way. If you get to where I am on the map you'll find the wind I think you mentioned before. Keep going right from there and you should find some bullets. The only thing you need to get here is the glide from what I can see, and that's the first thing you get.
