About 7 years leaving my DS Lite stored in a box, I finally decided to pick it up, only for it to not charge. When plugged in, it gives me a brief orange light which then dissappears. I bought a new battery (third party) and tested it, to no avail. Im making this thread to deduce whether this could be the battery itself or my DS having problems (Opened it up a few days ago, but the motherboard and the connectors looked nice, so im doubtful it could be that)

Sounds like the battery . you don't happen to have a multimeter to see?

You should check fuse F1and EM10 near charging port with multimeter. Also check your charger if connector is ok.

No, but i could see if someone i know has one. How do you find out if it works?
Set your multimeter to DC mode (⎓ symbol), put two probes on two battery's polarities. If the voltage is higher than 3.2V, the battery is ok.

your tongue but is not so accurate one. :rofl2:

This started as a Joke, but seriusly you can use your tongue to "feel" if the battery is charged, when you put the terminals on your tongue you could feel a little tingle between the terminals and you tongue, the bad: some people could get an uncomfortable feeling or even pain.
