PlatinumGames appoints new CEO

PlatinumGames is changing leadership. A press release from the company behind Bayonetta and Nier revealed that its once CEO, Kenichi Sato, stepped down from his position at the end of last year. He was CEO of Platinum for over five years, and while he still no longer serve as the brand's president, he'll remain on its board for the foreseeable future. Atsushi Inaba will be taking his place as the new CEO, having prior experience as the CEO of Capcom's Clover Studio, developers of Okami, God Hand, and Viewtiful Joe.

I would like to express my sincere greetings for the New Year.
We look forward to working with you this year as well.

Now that 2022 has just started, I would like to inform you.
Personally, as of the end of December 2021, I retired from the position of representative of PlatinumGames, and Inaba, Vice President of Hyundai, was appointed as the successor.
After assuming the post of president in April 2016, he focused on the game development business with the desire to "smile to people all over the world" and realized a capital tie-up with Tencent in December 2019. , We launched "Platinum Games TOKYO" as a development base in Tokyo to further strengthen our development capabilities, and started the development of our long-cherished "in-house IP (intellectual property)".
From now on, it is necessary to accelerate toward the creation of "new play" that can only be done by PlatinumGames, and for that purpose, at this timing, as the studio head of PlatinumGames, he has many years of skill in game creative. I decided that it was the best policy to baton-touch the position of president to Inaba, who was demonstrating.
From now on, I will support PlatinumGames from the side as an advisor. We would like to thank everyone who supported us during the 5 years and 8 months as President, and we look forward to the future of PlatinumGames, and we look forward to your continued support and support.

January 2022 Yoshiday
Kenichi Sato, Advisor, PlatinumGames Co., Ltd.

From this year, I will take the helm of PlatinumGames as President and Representative Director.
Although I have a heavy responsibility to tighten myself, I would like to make an effort to make PlatinumGames' raison d'etre of "continuing to create new play" shine more strongly, and aim for a further leap forward.
We look forward to your continued support in the future.

January 2022 Yoshiday
Atsushi Inaba, President and CEO of PlatinumGames Co., Ltd.

Hate to be that guy but they aren't the company behind nier, that would be Cavia/Square Enix. Only Nier Automata
Square Enix got the right for NieR Replicant, though. And they gave it to some random company to remaster. Nothing stops them from making Drakengard 4 and giving it to Platinum (while using assets and all the programming of Automata) while remastering the trilogy with the same company.
