You have to have Internet access yes.
Once done you can remove your Internet again if you like.

How does this work with SXOS? The app just black screen hangs when opened!

EDIT
It just takes like 30 seconds to load and also the app is really slow even after system restarts.

Sorry but I was wrong, the latest hekate release doesn't come with update.bin unfortunately. @Homlet think about this, it's not so specific and will help a lot of people using dongles and chips and changes nothing for who don't need it.

hekate_ctcaer_*.*.*.bin to update.bin and put it in the bootloader folder
and to also download Atmosphere's fusee-primary and rename it to payload.bin in the root of the sd card

As of 1.2.1, you can set any payload you have as bootloader/update.bin from the Tools->Inject payload menu

It shouldn't, loads fast for me. Do you have a slow internet? It fetches links online before displaying anything

Instead, posts have been redirecting folks to https://github.com/eXhumer/patches/releases/
Not sure where you are getting your sigpatches files from, perhaps you will need to update the location.

This homebrew is honestly so good, I wish the 3DS had something similar. Every "updater" app on 3DS for CFW breaks itself for no goddamn reason, and the devs never seem to fix it. A self-updating app that updates CFW and other apps is brilliant. Thank you!

Actually I think the self updating is broken lmao. I'm fixing it asap, the internationalization might be the culprit

This updater doesn't have updating Hekate as an option. I raised it as an issue in Github but it hasn't been addressed.

You can try airplane mode, it should load instantly (but then you can't download anything :^) ) and if it does, you know what the culprit is

I've talked to the dev of the website and I don't believe there is an API to fetch specific cheats for specific games yet. So as of now, the gbatemp thread seems to be the better way to get them from the switch
