Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time official reveal trailer

Crash 4 is officially real. Following the previous ratings board leak, Activision has formally announced Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, which is headed to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year. The game is being developed as "a true sequel" to the original trilogy, even cheekily bringing attention to the fact that it's ignoring the other games that came between Crash 3 and this new title. There are also two new masks that are being introduced in Crash 4--Eka-Eka and Kipuna-Wa, who can control gravity and time, respectively, in certain levels. Developer Toys for Bob is also including two game modes, modern, and retro, where players can either try to collect all the Wumpa fruit that they can within each level and earn extra lives, or they can restart from checkpoints without penalty, and instead focus on trying to get the fruit to unlock rewards. Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is due out on October 2nd.

I recognize that song, it was from FIFA 99 (good times!)
Ironically I was playing both FIFA 99 and Crash Bandicoot PS1 at that time when I was a kid.

Might wait for a Switch port. The visuals don't look overly complicated or anything (looks like something that could've been late last gen). But with Activision as the publisher who knows?
Still wish Naughty Dog kept their rights to Crash in 2008. Activision did a good re-trilogy for Crash, but I prefer it to done by Naughty Dog. But if Crash 4 turns out to be fine, I'll be more ok with it.

I guess if Naughty Dog still owned Crash, we wouldn't have seen it on the Switch, so at least that's a plus...

For sure going to wait for reviews on this one. Overall it does look good though level design is very important and something that games like Wrath of Cortex really failed with

The less IP Naughty Dog keeps the better. I'm hoping they'll sell Jak and Daxter so somebody will do a reboot retconning out Jak II and III.

I'm not really digging how Crash and Cortex look, for Cortex, I kinda like the remaster look more, imo that's just perfect, while Crash... he kinda reminds me of Sonic a bit...
Coco's fine, she's just darn too cute, lol.
The game seems fine so far, tho, I would like if they also included Crunch, like, it would be the first time playing as him in a platformer afaik.
Something I'm not cool with at all is the bullshit that was shown at the end, "preorder the game to receive" FUCK YOU Craptivision, don't you fucking goddamn ruin the game with microtransaction bullshit, ugh.

As the game is all about breaking boxes... I wouldn't be surprised if there were lootboxes... sigh...

I love the end of the trailer. They effectively make Wrath of Cortex non-canon. I doubt WoC would be considered something that takes place after this one too.

Yeah, I'll play this, but I'm more of a Spyro guy myself.

That game looks a hell lot better than the Trilogy, all the background details ,nice CG,good job ToysForBob would be nice if it can come to Switch
:yayswitch: the effort put into it makes it seem like they want a movie deal

It is, this game takes place in 1998 so it is purposefully put before the other ones.

That abomination of a "movie" and the change in opening is what made me watch Digimon Adventure entirely in Japanese

Its just ....ugh... character designs, level design, the art style, the forced comedy...
Bad crash game all over again.

Trilogy was a masterpiece, but this is just...ugh...cringey.

Well, "Wrath of Cortex" was considered Crash Bandicoot 4 for ages, but guess it's gonna change now.

This looks promising.

Well, it does have some similarity with Wrath of Cortex, in that Crash has four new mask companions that give him different power-ups, just like Crunch did back in the original game. Hmm, I wonder if Cortex will do the same by reintroducing Crunch and the Elementals as a way to counter him. I hope this happens. If it does, then this game will really be a worthy game to replace TWoC as the new Crash Bandicoot 4.

This is the first time since the 90's that i see a Crash Bandicoot game that looks nice and solid. Too many good games coming for the PS4 lately.. The new Horizon zero dawn and now Crash
