Anyone know if there's a program like muddyGB, but for other consoles with more buttons? More specifically, I'm looking for something like a cross between Free Piano for Windows and muddyGB for the PS Vita or something similar, something where I can assign buttons and button combos to specific notes/chords on the keyboard and use the touch screen or extra buttons/inputs for various commands. To be clear, I'm not looking for a tracker but something that can play different notes in real time by pressing different buttons/button combos.

That's probably a tall order, so I'll take what I can get as far as muddyGB equivalents on consoles that have controllers with more buttons. Anyone know of anything?

Never heard of muddygb before -- it was always all about little sound dj whenever GB/GBC music creation homebrew was brought up.

Anyway I don't know what you will find for the Vita -- by the time it appeared most homebrew authors had started doing other things (the rise of IOS and Android really did a number on that, and that was towards the end of the PSP lifetime). Speaking of the PSP I am not sure what you will have there either -- while I did have a go on some I was mostly paying attention to the DS, and it was the DS' touchscreen that attracted most interest (mainly as it could then emulate various input methods or take sensible amounts of input quickly rather than a dpad or stick) where the PSP was just another thing with buttons really, albeit with a bit of power to play with.
Things I had looked at for the PSP

If I am to presume you have access to a DS then you have a fair few options there

Wow, that's wild! Thanks for the tip! The Korg program has come a nice long way on the 3DS.

I actually have the one for the DS (Korg DS-10). I wasn't much of a fan at first—I was so in love with LSDJ at the time. I'll give it another shot, though. I have an R4, but it's giving me issues: I can't seem to get the right firmware. I'll be posting a topic in the DS section of the forums later to see if someone can help me ID the cart.
